The Ultimate Amazon Thread Mark 2 - Q/A - Good/Bad

Hey Danny,

I appreciate your thread. Great info in there!

What do you think about the Sahifa theme for a review website?

http://themes.tielabs.com/?theme=sahifa

I saw you had Gonzo in there too and I think it works well but I really like the rating system of this one. I was also looking at Swagmag. Not sure if you had any suggestions on which one would be more fitting for Amazon. I know it is quite subjective but I'd like to see if there if one is significantly better than the other.

Thanks

I only target Amazon.com which is USA Amazon.

Take them to Product or Accessory not HomePage.

Templates : I added some examples because for some reason people could not choose them on their own -- any good magazine theme is good in my opinion ... I try not to be 100% specific with this as well - so that people can have different sites - no point everyone using the same template .. no matter which one you go with - customize it somehow to make it your own.

I laughed when I read the post about Stickies .. I only wish when I started in IM - that there was alot of information in one place where I could chat back and forward -- I literally had to read every thread on BHW over months - to begin to understand what everything meant and lift my knowledge // apply to networks and get going.

But that's what I would be doing -- 1 sticky with Site Design/Themes 1 Plugins 1 Seo Strategy 1 Software 1 Management and 1 with things that I still need to learn/study.

Anyway back tomorrow and see whats happening then .. cheers.

I found a superb example of a site, although it doesn't have amazon on it, it certainly could, they use adsense instead. Its actually a very simple site, not amazing in design, but not a spammy looking site. They don't have particularly good longtails. They target product names specific.

The thing that impressed me was their first article was 2006. So its a good reminder that with good niches, that have regular new product, you can easily build sites that will last your lifetime. They are publishing 2-3 articles a week, and you can see they are outsourced, as they are always written in a different style.

I'm using sahifa theme for one of my sites currently.. it's fairly customizable and allows you to change the look quite easily.

Site is only couple of days old.. so I'm adding content right now and will see how it converts as soon as I start getting some traffic within the month.

Hello! I have some problems with amazon. Problem is that i can't get bigger % of referral rate i stand at 4% but I promoting over 6 products. I use wordpress plugin which makes easier products promoting. To promote i need to copy and paste product ASIN. Also maybe there is problems with tracking ID's?

promote more products
create more websites
gain more traffic

I promoting about 40 products... And amazon writes that you need promote from 7-30 to get 6% and 31-110 to get 6.5% so why i can't get those 6.5%?

you need to get 31-110 ORDERS to get 6.5% referral
not just "promoting" them

No Sales in 6 Days .. How Many Websites Do You Have ??

Yeah you gotta get Sales to increase referral % .. this program requires visitors to buy something ... that's why some people choose to promote email submits or free signups - so its a lower type of cost to the visitor ... but those are different types of Sites and a different strategy.

ohhh..:D now I understand...:D Thanks for help.
I have one more problem...Yesterday I created tracking ID and promoted with it items. Now I can't find it in my acc...And I don't want to re do everything...

Made a site about 3 weeks ago. Got it indexed 2-3 days later. Looking at my SERPs now, 1 is in the top 10 :D while the other 3 are in the top 20. I did not do any SEO on the said site yet because people in this thread advised to do SEO a month after it was indexed. Is this a good sign that the niche is dominatable or is it just too easy? :)

Write 20 articles based on different keywords and let us know what happens. Some kw are easier than other.

Look to the top right when you log in and you'll see Tracking ID. Click it and it'll show you all the Tracking IDs you've made.

Okay. I will update after I do so. BTW, when are Press Releases done? I mean right after the site gets indexed or just like the SEO which is a month after? Thanks again!

Press Releases : You can do one announcing the launch of your site - what it reviews/contains and why the products featured on your site are best in niche or best in budget. then give a general overview of the niche and its features ...... later you can PR each of the reviews/articles/accessories on the site.

PR is not going to hurt your site like aggressive link building can.

Thanks for clearing that up. When I scale this up, are there any service/site I should register on to make this automated everytime I make a new site?

What are you exactly wanting to automate ?

** Natasha Nixon Writing Service - Recommended by Me In This Thread.

I just wanted to make a comment on this service -- I use it to buy content for my General Info / Web 2 and for Clients Web 2 -- the articles I get are more than satisfactory for that purpose.

In terms of using them for Amazon - I think there is 2 ways to use this service if your looking for outsourced content.

1. Money Site - General Articles for extra keywords for your Site
.... or if you provide them with a template to follow for reviews then I think they would give you something you can use.

Otherwise if you don't give them a guide to follow or its not a general article based on a problem or keyword - then your going to have to re-write it up to a standard that you can expect.

2. Web 2 / Wikis / Article Directories -- that sort of use.

I don't think you can expect that for $6 for 500 words - that you are going to get Albert Einstein writing for you.... nor are you getting a $50 quality article for $6.

But what you are getting is a reliable fast content provider who more often than not can meet your general needs ---> additionally sometimes you need them to edit the article or have them go over it again.

So what I'm saying is you have to have realistic expectations for what comes out.

I have used alot of people at WF and bought many PLR Reviews and re-written them myself - because some of these are extremely well done.

Anyway if you have read the thread from start to finish then you will know that I always advise people to check out PLR / NN / WF and get yourself a good template of how your content should be done.

I'm sure those people who have gotten into this have realized - its better to do it yourself - but there are times when you need something written.
