10 sites that pay writers (worldwide) per article

IMHO, acquiring writing gigs in any or all of those sites is a good way to start for a rookie in the writing business (not a rookie in writing per se). That's how I started, too. Later, I learned how and where to find direct clients. I still maintain my oDesk account to date, and I'm getting handsome amount of orders from there.

To my fellow writers or providers of content writing services:
You know this so well and I don't think I have to mention this but I'll mention it anyway for the benefit of our comrades who are new into the content writing business. At the end of the day, it all boils down to how you sell yourself to clients. It's how you create a public image that does not force potential clients to buy or to inquire about your content writing service. You and I know that we can write an e-book or a report with the specific steps on how to project yourself in public or anything like that but we don't go there.

I haven't tried the others, but I've made a few sales on Constant Content and would definitely recommend it. I was worried at first because they really hyped their strict quality standards, but I've submitted over a dozen articles so far and not one has been rejected, so it's not too terrible.

Quality over quantity mates...you'll burn out eventually. I'm transitioning to longer articles, which will require more time to write. I'm currently at 30 minutes from start to finish, which includes research in the article, researching other articles to link (including my own), researching and posting just the right picture for the article, etc.

BTW, I'm in the automotive niche.

It means that you will be paid for the articles as
soon as you submit them and they are approved.
Most of the sites pay at least once a week for all
approved articles.

Great list! it would be nice to get an average or range on prices paid. Someone recently quoted me $300USD per article! I thought they were nuts but apparently people pay him that amount. 500 - 800 words. Does that sound right?

The amount paid for the articles depends on a lot
of things like the level of experience of the writer,
how much research needs to be done, what kind of
article you want done e.g. website content, copywriting etc
and how much they generally charge for their writing services.
Prices range from $2 to $ 1000 per 500-800 word article and you
can also be sure that the quality of the services also varies.
So $ 300 per article is not strange, some writers charge that while
others charge a lot less or a lot more.

It's hard to give an average price. All I can say is that find a
client or a writer you can work with then negotiate the
price.

Working for low paying clients can definitely lead to burnout
so it is good to transition to higher paying clients/jobs. I would
advise to use the money gained from the writing jobs on content mills
to invest on building your own writer site and advertising the site so as to
get your own clients.

MTurk doesn't pay upfront. If you write articles, don't bother with them. Half a penny a word is pretty much the going rate. They have a ton of micro jobs though. I have a pre-teen daughter and it's perfect for her. She does some click work, I see how much she did, I pay her for it out of my pocket right then and there, and I let what she did sit in the "bank". At Christmas I'll get her something nice from Amazon.
