I'm from the UK but I also had problems your are having. Well my problem was that my bank kept refusing the transaction as it came from Russia (even after I told them the transaction is OK).

In the end I purchased a VCC, did the transaction and then emailed the VCC company asking for the Rubles amount. Within 12 hours they replied with the info I need.

Mind if I ask which VCC that was? Was it Entropay?

Thinking of doing this for clients who want to manage their own Sape links - load their funds on a VCC.

Bang on mate it was Entropay. Just drop them an email asking for the exact amount once you have done the transaction on Sape.

Some of my clients had the similar problems. So Here are the several solutions possible:

1) If you have online banking - login there and in some cases you can see the exact number in rubles. You need to enter the exact amount like 7.44 so that would be VERY HARD to guess.
Or you can call your bank and ask the exact amount in rubles.
Of course it depends from you card and bank. Many banks don't tell the exact amount, but others do. I have SEVERAL different clients who managed to do it easily

2) Contact SAPE support FROM YOUR account. Talk with them and they can add your card without this process of authentication.
Someone pointed that you can contact them on forum. That's also an option. but it's better to do FROM YOUR ACCOUNT.
I had a case when sape stuff on forum redirected me to this procedure.

3) Find appropriate exchanger to webmoney.
That's also not easy, and right to now I didn't find the best solution.
Well, I change cash to webmoney easily. And I change money to webmoney for some clients, but I have to take commissions as there are several stages of exchange which charge comission.

4) Use another network which accepts paypal

The answer is very very simple. I also had issues with my bank...I ended up just doing the following (taken from a post I made on another thread)

When trying to verify the amount charged to your card, you just need to use an accurate converter such ashttps://www.google.com/finance/converter and then go up or down a bit.

so if the amount that the converter shows is 3.83 rubles...then try either 3.84 or 3.82 (try the 3.83 as well)

I had to do this because my bank wouldn't let me know the initial currency amount charged.
