Negative SEO

What is you CMS? It shouldn't create that pages in the database at first place.

If I modified, or I wrote the code to do so, it should. As stated earlier, the intent was to take a search that had no match and create a page that most closely match it to the material on the site. I am rewriting that code now with a time limit for a dynamic page life rather than allow it to remain as a persistent and indexable page.

The trick actually came from one of the sites most heavily featured on my site. I noticed that if a person performed a search on that site, the search showed up in Google. This can be done with any CMS. Other sites like Pissed Off Consumer use a variation of that trick with the related content of that Wordpress based site. Most of the negative content sites, including Rip Off Report use a custom version of WordPress. Only one that I am aware of uses Joomla.

I will call myself an idiot because I did not foresee an abuse like that. However, there is no better person to teach you dirty tricks than an enemy.

lol.. I never said I wanted information regarding your "classified" script, if I wanted to create dynamic content I'd write my own.

However you modified\wrote it obviously isn't working effectively if it's producing 404 alerts that are indexed let alone 7000 lmao... Take that point and go where ever you want with it. It's flawed.

You can change it however you want if instead of fixing the issue you just want to get revenge. I was in the misunderstanding in thinking you didn't want a pissing contest.

Allow me me to partial quote the post you made at 12:33, post #16.
That would have been my first call to action if i understood your script better.

You indirectly asked what script I was using.

I wasn't insinuating I wanted the name let alone code from the script. I was stating that if I had a better understanding of how it worked, I would be able provide an educated comment other than a robots.txt file which would be counter productive, and modifying the .htaccess file to prevent him from doing it again without use of a proxy.

Ban your competitor IP address in .htaccess. Should help.

He mentioned he already played with the .htaccess

I'm not sure how anyone can give you a specific answer at what the most detrimental factor would be in negative seo towards your target as you're using a custom script. Any answer so far you have already thought of if not already implemented, and the other answers are simply going to be a tick for tack borage of backlinks from spammy adult\gambling sites.

What is percolating through my mind since I know what is being done is to 301 those artificial pages back to the URL's that they are attempting to promote while also trying to bring my site down. This is entirely passive and only depends on their action.

They create a page, load it with bought banned links, the page is 301'd and pointed back to them. Sort of reverse negative SEO that does not require me tracking down what they are doing and going through the disvow motions with Google, Bing, and other SE's.

How would this affect them and the site that they are trying to destroy?

Its an unfortunate circumstance in which many businesses do face sadly. If your competitor is trying to take down your site, then why not take down his? There's many options available for you but it all comes down to how far you are willing to go.
You could easily de-index his site or even take it down with a ddos attack. If you have his IP then you can crash his internet service. There's many other options but it all depends on what you want to do.

It is not worth three weeks worth of work to take down a site hosted on Amazon for six hours. I have done it before and telling you it is not worth the effort. Once you do it, you then have to find another method because that vulnerability will be fixed, even when you cover it with noise.

While probably not you, I see my neg rep troll is back.

This is the promise I make, though I will not spend much time on you, if I catch you, you would be surprised the amount of havoc can be created on the web for you. The neg reputation people online taught me well. If your neg rep were legitimate, I would have no problem. I have little tolerance for a wanna-be.

Someone wants to ban me, be my guest, but take your rep troll with me.

If the guys got a Google Local Business listing then just send a couple of Fake Reviews from Fiverr his way. It works wonders

No local business. Fraudulent Online Rep Agency and ex-affiliate of Mugshots . com that lost his affiliate status behind harassing me. One graveyard is here. Possibly, but unlikely, Mugshots . com themselves. I do not think that Marc Epstein (Attorney for Mugshots . com) would be that foolish. Possibly also a local Mugshot website operated by a Brent S that fancies himself an SEO expert when he cannot even rank his own site.

I 'd suggest 2 things if you all want this to go smoothly.

a) Stop playing with your rep buttons
b) No threats.

So you are in the mugshots niche, which essentially requires that arrested offenders pay money to take their photographs off the web. Expect to deal with nseo not just by competitors, but also from those that refuse to pay the ransom.

If you play in a sandbox filled with shit, chances are you will also smell like shit. This is what happens in certain industries that prey on their potential customers. Get used to it or find a different niche.

If you knew what you were talking about, you might actually make some sense.

Let me clue you in. I am in the "ANTI-mugshots" niche. I am one of those that is attempting to take that industry down. I do this by advocating legislation, education, and often unpaid ORM for others. I am personally under constant attack by the mugshots industry and their henchmen. I also have numerous CD's full of material on the industry and the investigations that they are under that were obtained under the various records laws of the states and the federal government. I understand that they will attempt to use Neg SEO.

I put no persons information online without their permission. I do ORM for a number of people that are inflicted with the mugshot sites, and much of that work I do without pay. I also do work for remedying some of the problems the other content sites create for people and business. This work was learned due to the use of negative content sites like ROR, PissedConsumer, and the like in trying to extort me into taking the site down. Would you like a link to an email exchange with one of the operators proving the last sentence? Here is your link: http://bit.ly/YvhArf. Why don't you Google Mugshots.com and go through the first three of four pages looking for a Netherlands domain and read the material. If you look, you will find that site in a number of areas. Study, learn, understand before you open your mouth because right now your breath smells worse than an outhouse.

Here is the link that will inform you and prove pretty much what I wrote above: http://bit.ly/12WDmIg. Much of the negative content is there because I want it there due to the fact that I use that politically. Some I have even put up so that I could learn how to address the problems and how to control it.

You are only running your mouth without investigation, like many of the posts that I see BHW. The only thing that I cannot say, at the moment, is that you are regurgitating others ideas like so many others in so many areas.

And yes, I play in a very dirty sandbox, but not by my choice. They chose to involve me, but thought I would roll over. I am not the type of person that rolls belly up - as they have found out. To date, I and the others I work with have successfully passed anti mugshots legislation in Utah and Georgia. The legislation we had introduced in Florida has not passed this year, but will come up next year. We have also had legislation introduced in Texas that is still running through the process. We have also played roles in lawsuits in Ohio, Nebraska, and a few that are coming up that I cannot speak about at the time. We are not even concerned with all the bity little wanna be players. We want the big ones. You would be surprised at how many of the big players have criminal records, and FTC judgements for CC Fraud and many other crimes. As a single example, though I can produce many more, here is one of the shining attorney affiliates of mugshots.com for you: http://1.usa.gov/13ufqww. I fault no person attempting to make a legitimate living, but the mugshot sites are not earning a legitimate living. What you, or any other, may choose to think of me, it does not matter.

Did I learn any of what I am doing from BHW? Not a bit of it. Can BHW help me toward my goals - time will tell. But as long as I am here, I will contribute.

You want a laugh. This is the main player for mugshots.com - the attorney:

I 'm not sure I understand your crusade.

Correct me if I 'm wrong but from what you are saying, I infer that they operate legally. And if that 's true, then exactly what gives you the right to be a lawmaker, a judge and a policeman?

He isn't any of those. Just as those criminal record\public knowledge sites are legal, as is introducing legislation.

If he was backing someone who was against the public trying to introduce laws to government, then I could understand your concern.

Of course, I didn't imply anything different. Law is suppose to evolve from bottoms up and express the common feeling in general.

From what he 's saying though, allow me to think that lobbying for introducing legislation isn't the only thing he 's doing ;)

What makes you think that they operate legally? In their operation they violate no less than 20 statutes. They also violate laws in just about every state in the nation.

What I and others are at a loss for is the understanding of why the Fed.s have not gone after them. On the other hand, the material that I have from the FTC suggests that they are being investigated for criminal activities. Some of the material (84 pages) we have sought is being withheld under exception 3 of the Freedom of Information act. Exception 3 is withholding due to criminal investigation.

I think that adequately addresses your concern.

Moving on to the bit players and one major operator, Here in Utah, Kyle Prall of Busted Mugshots . com is sueing one of the counties because they will not place booking photos online. The legislation we worked on and had passed in Utah requires any person requesting a booking photo sign a statement that the image will not be placed on any website that charges a removal fee. Prall and friends sought 1400 booking photos under the states records laws and is now trying to sue for those images. No matter what the mugshot site say, they are in violation of several federal laws alone when they publish a photo. Those laws range from the violation of the Lanham act to outright extortion. You have to make no threat to engage in extortion by law, you only have to carry out some act that would forward an extortion. When you place an image online SEO the crap out of it to make it show on the first page of a name search, if not the first slot, you are actually committing an extortionate act under law. There is also no first amendment right to publish those images contrary to what the mugshot sites will tell you. You can claim that they are public records, but that claim is only half true; every state and the feds have an exception for records collected for police purposes proscribing release for anything other than official police purposes.

We move on to other information that you would not be aware of. Some of the mugshot websites have an evidentiary record for hacking into police databases to get photo's. I can show no less that 100 different reports on this from government sources.

I don't have to be a judge or a jury. The evidence speaks for itself. Even asking such a foolish question of what gives me the right to be a judge, a jury, or an execution shows the mind set that you have. Try asking that of a murderer. They do not need a reason - they are. I have spent nearly two years of my life tracking down these critters. There are several of us that are doing just what I am doing and we all tend to work autonomously.

To add a little something, just for the thought of others. These sites have caused people to lose employment and housing. In some of the more extreme cases people have committed crime to obtain money to live on. I personally know three that have been the victims of these sites and lost employment or housing, or both. Do you feel comfortable having someone rob or burglarize because of inflammatory and most likely incorrect information on you? Sheesh, some of these people were booked and released for arguing with a cop? However the mugshot websites are not interested in the fact that there was no prosecution, they only care about placing your information online to make you pay them to take it down. Then they rinse and repeat with another affiliate mugshot site ad infinitum.

Many of the operators of those sites are convicted criminal themselves. Most for CC fraud. There are many complaints of someone paying them to take down an image with a CC and suddenly having all kinds of unauthorized charges made to their CC.

This a major social issue. But what gives any right? Draw you own conclusions.

Something that I forgot to add for you to think about, I have information suggestive of one of the backplane owners of Busted Mugshots also owning PissedConsumer. I also have strong circumstantial evidence of a connection between Mugshots . com and RipOffReport. Think about that.

I plead the fifth amendment right against self incrimination.

I am not knowledgeable in US law. I am simply assuming from the fact that this "niche" exists for quite some time that there 's no serious legal action being taken against them.

What I and others are at a loss for is the understanding of why the Fed.s have not gone after them.

Me too. That 's why I 'm assuming their legal or at least not too illegal to be brought down that way.

Not really. Investigation for criminal activities doesn't mean it 's criminal activities in regards to the mugshots. Plus, from an investigation to shutting down the "niche" as illegal is a huge step.

Aren't courts responsible to decide that? And assuming you 're right, isn't the law enforcement 's job to make sure the law is held?

In which case they 've broken the law and should be help responsible by the law.

My mindset is that in a democracy, there is no room for self righteous vigilantes. Unless you are part of law enforcement and you have been given the task to regulate, if you are breaking the law, you are no less a criminal than the others. If you are not breaking the law, well, then everything is perfectly fine.
