So my story is this: I have an affiliate website for a niche that started out to be easy. Then some news about it came out and everybody started working on it. I wasn`t doing much to it and I was ranking #5 on it with 1k valuable links and great onsite seo.

The case study for negative SEO is as any other, let's blast the sh!t out of this website. The problem is that the case study is conducted by someone else for some reason. So to clear everything up, I`m being blasted with 5k links daily for about a week now.

So I`ll just come out with the result so far and keep you up to date if anything changes.

After around 32k new backlinks with my main keyword as anchor, making it be around 90% of all my anchors, my website is currently ranking #3 and received 5 more sells and almost doubled its traffic.

My point being: be prepaired to do negative seo, or don't do it at all. Not doing it at all is always better. Learn to rank, learn to be the best, don't just be the guy that shots the president, that's never the good guy.

I'm confused!!!

You're doing negative SEO or blasting your own site with spammy site ??

I am not doing anything. Someone is trying it on one of my websites. Not really working from what I see so far.

@SkyrocketSEO I do have some strong signals, it's something that helps a big number of people so they are talking about it without my interference.

Dude sent out alot of press releases trough BST services, get alot of social signals as skyrocket and you might just end out even stronger :D

It's in my priorities. I was ready to give up the website if needed, I am still prepaired to start other projects if this colapses, but if this won't kill it, I will make it stronger, as I can see it does have some juice in it. This situation only did something that I wasn't capable of. Pushing the limits of a website. I never even thought of blasting a website like that, lets see if I can learn something from this and know exactly how many are too many, when it comes to backlinks.

Okay!!!
I thought you're doing neg seo.
anyway nice case study!!

I often see blast of comments fail on trying to do negative seo. The fact is that its pretty hard to actually "down" big authority websites with week spam comments :)

So your website must be some sort of authority domain :)

Not an authority, not really old either. Just started slowly, gave it some hansome backlinks and some nice onsite seo.. so it has some place for spammy backlinks now :)
