That's when the 25 year Patent from Stanford Uni for PR runs out (Google use it under license from Stanford) From then on it's public domain and reverse engineerable without any penalty. August 1990 to August 2015...

Google will likely replace it with something VERY similar (just different enough not to cause overlap issues and potential lawsuits)

I was just hit with a big surprise today. PR may be phased out sooner than you think. I found an unranked page of my site ranking #1 above competitors pages that were PR2-1.

The past few months I've been going heavy on quality traffic and social signals and no new backlinking That's where the future is at peeps!! They've decided to let the people decide and not so much the algorithms.
