Sounds good. It's always interesting to hear what works for others.

As for the domain, I would try looking for a bit longer. If it doesn't make sense and has 3 hyphens then I would really spend some time brainstorming, maybe there is something.. How about a-b-cs (adding an s to the end for plural) or abcs?

a-b-cs makes even less sense than a-b-c-d ... c is a singular noun, it has no plural form

I'll just keep digging, I just got an idea, actually


but first, I'm gonna finish eating my sandwich ... then I'll include a note on the domain name in my next update ... probably, the last one for today

ok, so from what I had to do this evening, I:
successfully tested my home-made crawler, works like a charm!
had a good confference with my soon-to-be associate;
made a 'beta' version of my business plan;

and didn't do everything else!
just as an update, I just received my first domain in my control panel, so that just speeds up things a bit! more on that tomorrow morning;

as for my SEO strategy, the first ideas I've got outline something like this:

1st phase: the beginning: I'm going to start with the more general website, covering around 10 long tail phrases, with around 750 searches each; I'm going to build links from SB, high PR relevant blog commenting, forums sigs, and eventually some links in articles posted on authority hubs; this website will serve as an aged over-ranker and link juice bucket;
once I get some kind of EMD, I will put around 5-10 high quality, optimized articles that will be targeting mainly the primary phrase. I will build links from the first, general site, to this smaller, targeted niche domain.
I will also post articles on this small niche on authority hubs and link to both my domains;

For link diversity, I will alternate internal with external links, by targeting wiki articles, for example;
After this, depending on how much I have left, I am thinking about getting SEO from either fiverr or here on the forums.
Also I would like to keep my blogs updated, so new content will also represent a possibility.

2nd phase, the upkeep, will include periodical article posting, and some continuous backlinking to all of my domains (I say all, because I plan on expanding on this niche a bit, seeing that I was able to find a few good lonk tail keywords in a matter of days, I'm thinking on building a blog network with a few large money sites, and a few more "bucket" sites, for getting people to the money sites)




so what do you guys think about my plan?
any ideas, advice, criticism are highly appreciated!

on a side note, does anyone know how I can change the default font for my posts? I like using Century Gothic, but I hate the fact that I have to manually select it each and every time I make a post... is there an option for this? I couldn't find anything in the settings....

My girlfriend won't stop texting me, and it's pissing me off ... I should do something about it, right? I mean come on ... priorities! Plus, she's not even here, she's in another town right now, so we can't see each other, and IMO, texting with no purpose whatsoever is stupid ...

what I have right now:

• a general niche domain, received yesterday
• a few other long tail keywords from the same niche

what I have to do today:

1. Install Wordpress with Thesis on my new domain
2. Choose one of the bidders on my rewriting job
3. Add some final notes on my business plan
4. Finish one of my small ebooks about a certain black hat method
5. Search for some .info domains that I could possibly use as 'bucket' sites for blasting links ... (maybe)
6. Keep brainstorming about a small niche EMD
7. Post another update, at least
8. Do a fast calculation on the total search count of the other long tail keywords, in order to estimate possible revenues for ~2nd or ~3rd place
9. Play around with Thesis and some themes I have for it
10. Have another conference ...
11. Get some sleep? considering last night I only slept for like 4hours ...
12. Talk to my gf, so maybe she'll stop bugging me?

OK... now that I've wrote all that down, I hope it'll be easier to get around and do everything on that list

Yeah.. I'm just gonna say that if that's your mindset, you might as well quit now. If you need us to keep you going, and "may at times get discouraged", then you're not fit for this fight, man. Get a 9 to 5 job. This is not for the weak willed.

That being said, regardless, good luck. I read these threads everyday and never really see anything come of them. Maybe you'll make it.

Jaymien, if you want to know how I did anything I did until now, just ask me, and I'll try to explain as well as I can!

what I did until now:

• Set the name servers for the domain, and they're already refreshed
• talked to my gf, so I can work calmly for the rest of the day
• chose one of the bidders and talked to him about the articles, and funded my account with 100$, from which I'll pay 40 today and keep the rest for the bulk of my articles that I'm gonna order next week.

other things I need to do today:

1. choose the articles I want rewritten and send them to the worker

The SEO strategy sounds pretty standard. I'd recommend the thread called "Backlink diagram (100% penguin safe) huge increase in ranking with this new diagram" - search for it here, and read some of it. Maybe it'll give you some ideas

all in all, not a really constructive day ...

what I did today:

• Installed Thesis
  
• played around with the skin editor
• downlaoded some awesome professional skins
• tried to contact bidder to give him the job, didn't answer, just talked to an old friend that told me that he's moved to UK 4 years ago, he's working there as an english teacher ... he asked me if I could make him a web page where his students could chat together durring class, but not facebook or yahoo... I asked him to rewrite those articles for me, he's happily agreed to do it ... I just closed the freelancer job, I asked the support team to refund my 100$ I had previously deposited there ... I really hope this turns out to be a good idea ... anyway, with the extra money I can get more SEO I guess...

So that's basically it, that's all I've done so far ... I know, I'm really late on schedule ... but what can I do? at least I'm not demotivated, not the tiniest bit! ^_^
I'll be away the whole weekend, and I don't hope to have any kind of internet connection ... hell, I don't even think I'll have phone signal! So most probably, my next update will be ... let's see: I'm coming back monday evening, I'll do some work, tuesday morning as well, so probably around tuesday evening!

Hey guys, I'm back!
So this weekend I remembered just how great sex feels! ^_^

now, let's get back to business:
what I'm going to do today:

• send the articles to my friend, instruct him on how the rewriting should be done
• recap the business plan with my associate
• try to think how I could optimize the process, what I could do better

Tomorrow I may start a YT+CPA experiment ... my blog is up and running, awaiting content and SEO...Things are moving a bit slow today, since my head hurts because of yesterday's partying ...
