Anyone do cold calling for website and SEO cusromers?

If I can get some input from cold callers or people who hire them, I really appreciate it.

I am thinking about paying someone to do cold calling for me in my local area. I am targeting small service companies that service a local service area and will be cold calling to obtain website and associated SEO services.

I propose to pay them $100 (usd) per contract for building a website, and $150 (usd) per SEO contract they bring in.

Since I am only paying for success, I want it to be worth someone's time, and I want someone who understands the business a little bit, in case the customer asks basic questions..

Is this commission structure attractive for a good cold caller? Am I over paying by some huge amount by offering this much? (I do not mind in the least paying this amount for each contract, but more makes me uneasy. On the other hand business is business and there is no sense throwing money away either)

If I hire a cold calling agency, will the costs be more that I am allowing, and can they target a specific type of small business?

Do I have to have a prepared pitch or is a good cold caller not going need one?

For SEO Contracts I would say that 50% front fee and 10% recurring fee sounds more legit for a right sales person.

For cold calling, that is a good enough incentive. In terms of a script, you should give them a good list of facts for them to go by regarding SEO & Website design, and make a rough draft script for them to use and tell them to improvise a little bit. Also, give them a list of things to say when people say no or not interested.

The strategy is when you cold call, someone use it recently on me, Hey i would like to ask u something, its okay if you cannot do this now, but its possible if you, present your offer. most likely they will give it considerations about it.

Writing and tweaking a script takes a while (weeks). Without a proven script in place, basically you're asking the cold caller to shoulder the risk for you. ..

Realistically, a lot of people who cold call are on the brink of something. If they don't make money and FAST, they are gone. Unless they had direct experience with cold calling for SEO/web building and stole/copied the script of the other place, I don't think it would work.

Furthermore, I don't see an experienced cold caller accepting your offer.

In terms of sales management a pure commission job seems like a great idea. All of your wages will depend on how hard you work, if you work hard you will earn as much as someone who has years of experience. But there are many more factors than just cold calling someone. The person they call could be having a bad day, they may not have the experience or the skill to even get that first client. In short it will lead to low morale high turn over and a lot more training on your part. Of course this is assuming that you are giving them qualified leads rather than handing them a phone book and say keep calling until the end of your shift.

On top of that you need to have someone to manage them because cold calling is a nightmare job and you will find many who apply are only using it as an in between job/school work to earn some cash. From my experience it has mostly been uni kids and they never stick around for long.

As for your other questions well you need to research call centers and find that out for yourself.

Hello Techxan, I've been following some of your most recent threads.

I believe that you should hire someone with some existing knowledge about the services you want to offer them. They'll have to know your services inside out, and able to be shoot off confident quick responses if you want to land clients. Also, anyone with good experience is going to want good money in order to work. From my experience, you pay with peanuts, you work with monkeys (you get what you pay for).

I do extensive research before calling any business or company trying to pitch them our services. I'll prepare a detailed report before talking to them containing information about their online presence, and their competitors(Which takes me about 10 minutes). It's a very professional approach and tends to catch their attention quite well.

I'm offering webinar services to a specific industry. I found the trick is to not sell. Offer them what they want. For the most part, no one cares about SEO. You're trying to sell them something they don't know or believe they want. From the beginning you're swimming upstream.

It's a lot better, effective and profitable to understand what a business wants. They want more business. That's the only thing they care about "results".

You offer them solutions instead of "seo". It's simply a matter of identifying the problem for an industry, let's say plumbers, calling them and having them identify the pain they have (need for more customers) and then offering them the solution.

Wait until they ask you how much. You then ask them what their budget looks like? How much is each new client worth to them? Focus on the value of your service to them. Example, each new customer is worth $250 to you. So two new customers are worth $500. I can bring you a minimum of ten new customers. Would you be willing to pay $500 for ten new customers?

No need for scripts or experienced telemarketers. I have people who are confined to their homes (disabled) willing to make the calls. They simply speak to the decision maker and offer the solution the business wants.

Don't over complicate things. Make it easy for the business to say yes instead of making easy for them to say no to you. When you over complicate things, you simply confuse the business owner and give them a reason to say no to you.

I'm using the same service to sell listings on a industry directory. I have someone call them up, ask them if they have a smartphone, take them to the website, the see who else is listed there, we send them a contract and they send us the commitment to $50/mo "till forbid". They give the associate three referrals of others in the industry. Since a friend referred them, the referral usually buys because "Johnny" is listing his business and I'll list it because Johnny is.
