Find proof. Contact a lawyer. Bank in court (or before if he can imagine the consequences).

In my country, there are extremely serious consequences for DOS-attacks, check your rights.

is hard to find the source of the attack, probably they are some infected computers and he paid some hackers to do it

If you come back with does attack it will be start of global war between you and competitor
Just go to court

If you are using shared hosting it might be that someone is ddosing another site which has the same ip as yours. The whole server slows down in most cases

Call the police, in the US DDOS attacks carry a 5 year prison sentence.

Get rid of him as a competitor if hes pulling bullshit tactics

Feel free to contact me, or add me on Skype if you still need help :)

Cheers,

healzer

there is nothing you can do
best way is not getting competitior that would ddos you

lol @ these people saying court and lawyer, no 1 is doing a ddos attack these days that's actually able to be traced back to them.

cmon you guys, be realistic here. Setup firewall settings on your server and a good cloudflare setup and you'll be fine. Whether or not you choose to retaliate is at your own discretion.

I was thinking the same thing. Most ddos attacks are performed from hijacked computers. They're not going to press charges against 500 innocent people who downloaded a trojan by accident.

of course i can't prove anything. but opening a war doesn't look as a good solution neither. thank you all
