So, yesterday I logged into my PP account and I got the following message:
May 2, 2013: It's been a little while since you used your account. So, we just want to make sure that you authorized some recent transactions.
Great. I thought I was going to get over this quickly: They asked me to provide some details about my latest transcations, they also asked my photo ID and an utility bill.. I told them about my transactions.. Not big deal.. I just get paid weekly by a PPD network.. and I sometimes buy services from Fiverr. That's all. Not any eBay shit or anything like that. I also don't sell anything. So I submited my photo ID and today I was going to submit an utlility bill.. BUT SURPRSISE! I got an email from them saying:
We regret to inform you that we?re initiating the closure of your PayPal
account because of certain activity that took place relating to your
account. This measure is necessary to protect us from potential financial
losses.

Your account balance during the account closure period:

This decision means we must oversee the appropriate movement of any money
currently in your account. A gradual approach to account closure allows us
to part ways, while considering any liabilities that may arise. Our aim is
to review any valid buyer claims lodged against you. We must allow enough
time for claims to be filed as these can take several months to be reported
and resolved.

How will the process work?

1. We?ll hold any money currently in your account in accordance with
section 2 below. We do this because it provides sufficient time for most
claims, such as chargebacks, to be filed by other parties. These claims can
result in financial loss. If your account balance is below zero, you?ll
have to settle the amount owing on your account to avoid further action.

2. Our first review at 30 days from the date of this email will calculate
our exposure and we?ll release any excess funds to you at that time for
withdrawal. We?ll communicate this to you at the time. This review can
result in 3 different outcomes as detailed in sub-sections 2(1)-(3) below.
We?ll always communicate the outcome of our reviews to you.

* We?ll release your entire remaining balance to you for withdrawal.
Please note that if you choose not to withdraw the money at that point we
reserve the right to re-coup any money at the next review; or
* We?ll release a part of your remaining balance to you. If this is the
case we?ll inform you about how much money can be withdrawn. We?ll then
conduct another review 30 days later that will repeat the process detailed
under section 2; or
* We won?t release any funds to you if we deem our exposure to be
greater than or equal to your available balance.

Your account may be reviewed up to 5 times; at 30 day intervals until day
180 from the date of this email. If any money remains in your account at
day 180 it will be made available for withdrawal at that point.

Accounts with a balance owing to PayPal:

If your account shows an amount owing to us, you must add funds to ensure
that the balance returns to zero. Please note that we reserve the right to
recover the amount by legal means.

A copy of our User Agreement can be found by clicking ?Legal Agreements? at
the bottom of any PayPal page. Our right to close your PayPal account, and
the retention of funds, are covered in our User Agreement under sections
10.2 and 10.3.

We regret any inconvenience this may cause.

Thanks,
PayPal

They just went full retard. It also says "This limitation cannot be appealed" They are SO RETARDED. Also my paypal was verified. I called their shitty customer support but yeah, the same retarded answers (I don't even know why I bothered calling them)
I don't get it why they did that since I only used that account to recieve my payments. I didn't sell anything (i saw that most people who get that problem are eBay sellers).
So is there a possibility that they will let me withdraw ALL my money after 30 days? Quote:
* We?ll release your entire remaining balance to you for withdrawal.
Please note that if you choose not to withdraw the money at that point we
reserve the right to re-coup any money at the next review; or
Also I had a limit of $500 that I could withdraw everyday. Will I be able to withdraw more than 500 dollars? I guess it is possible since no one will make any chargebacks or any kind of this shit since I don't offer any services.
Also what's a good alternative for PayPal?

Personally, I now only work with Payza or Moneybookers. Have never had problems with either.

I'm looking forward to work with Payza.. Is there any limit of recieving or withdrawing money?
Because I get an average 550 dollars every week from the PPD network that I work for..

Sorry why is thread name 2000 usd loss when they will let you withdraw your money?

I don't get it. Maybe I missread something, then sorry.

They will let me withdraw them in SIX MONTHS. And that's just TOO MUCH. I need my money NOW not in 6 months and Paypal has no right to hold them for that long since I didn't do anything against their shitty ToS. I even consider taking them to the european court of justice

There is a $500 monthly withdrawal limit if your account isn't verified, and you can only use it to pay for stuff that only accepts payza. If you get it verified you can get the payza prepaid debit card, and use the money at alot more places.

it's gone bro !! u can't appeal this limitation ! u can only on withdraw it after 6 month ! or u can sell this account to someone who are buying limited account ! but i don't think u are going to get much by selling it !! good luck with gaypal ...

Where are you based?

I'm in the UK and their small claims court is very simple. If it was me, I'd do the following:

Very polite but stern email that you want YOUR money. Either they provide you access to your account to withdraw, or they can wire the money into a bank account you specify.

Inform them if this is not done by (date) you'll be left with no option but to issue a summons.

Wait until given date and then issue a small claims summons against them for the amount + damages + court fees.

Job done.

Chances are as soon as they receive a summons from the court, they'll just pay what ever is owed as its cheaper to just pay you as opposed to pay lawyers to defend the case.

Even if they do defend, I can't see how they would win.

You get your money.... plus you get extra in damages for your time.

I've used the small claims system several times, even for cases friends and a lawyer have told me I have no chance! I've won every time representing myself (judges have to aid you in legal matters during the case if represent yourself - subconsciously gets them sympathetic with your side ;) )

UK small claims court is very easy to deal with.

Just set up better backup systems for next time mate, this happens all the time if your doing serious shit, and you need to be staying at least 3-5 steps ahead.

Thanks for your suggestion. I am from Romania but I'm not sure how effective will this be in my country.. I think it will just make things more complicated :(

i suggest you to go for 2co(dot)com
But 2co is not accepted by my PPD network.. I also want something that I can use to pay for Fiverr gigs or other online services like hostgator, godady etc

Quite the defeatist attitude.

Do you want your money or not?

Everything is fixable and you can always win. It's just a case of taking action and getting the job done.

Don't treat IM like a game. Run it like the business it is.

Call them if you haven't already, be polite and explain the situation. If they still refuse, then proceed with what @DanDanger told.
If you do this, you'll get your money for sure.

Just make sure you also email. When you issue a summons you'll need all communication in writing so the judge can read it. Just a simple print out of the email, but phone calls judges are sketchy on as there's never a transcript.

I already called them but it was useless.

Does this mean that there's a chance i'll get my money back after 30 days if there are no chargebacks or complains in my account?

Just applied for a Payoneer card.. Let's see how this goes.
Also, if anyone can, please answer the question above :)

You mentioned that you only use this for getting your weekly PPD payout + some fiverr stuff. Does your network not allow you to get paid by wire transfer or any other methods besides paypal? You can always buy Fiverr gigs as a paypal guest.

Sounds to me this route would avoid having any third party website handle your money...

I use Cleanfiles.net. Yes, there are more payment options besides paypal but PP was just the best option to me.. I'll be using Payoneer after my card arrives :)
Also, didn't know that I can buy gigs as a "paypal guest". Thanks a lot for this information ;)
Hope they'll release all my money in 30 days.
