Unique content, if its a blog site post at least ten quality posts over a few day and make sure you do your keyword research.
If your using wordpress there is also great free plugins for helping with SEO like: "All in one seo" or "SEO by Yoast"

I wouldn't say the whole site is bad, but it is possible there might be a few bad sellers.
