A bit of advise please?

Firstly, as my profile states, I am a newbie so please excuse my ignorance if I make a few mistakes.

I won't name the person just yet as I am still waiting a response via Skype & email (don't have enough posts for pm)

I commissioned a BHW member (donor with decent rep on here since early 2010) to do some keyword research and SEM on a URL and competitive analysis of a direct competitor. I feel like I've been getting spun in circles from the beginning. The first list of keywords provided were completely not related to the products I promote and the second list contained 8 or 10 and for this he claims to have spent considerable amounts of time. With my very limited knowledge I added to this list with better words (higher exact search low comp).

For the past 11 days I have been told the he is in the process of creating backlinks. No mention of on page SEO. No report has been produced and the last promise was Friday night. Since then he has not responded to emails or I'm even though I can see him online.

What should I do now? Obviously I can open a case with paypal and can add to the list here. Am I doing the right thing or should I wait?

You start by naming that person so we can grab his attention to this thread so he can give his side of the story. You need to post proof of payment and then screenshots of the chat logs.

Thanks for getting back to me. It appears there has been something going on in the background and this post may have spurred a response that I received last night.

As I mentioned, I am a complete newbie and still trying to figure things out.

In creation of backlinks, our url is appearing after the main site url. For Example

OP, this section for reporting anything to do with fraud, it's not limited to services only, it can be about software or merchandise. This user just likes to spam and spread incorrect data.

Just name the user here, keeping him unnamed is no good for the community. If you're getting treated differently now because of this thread then this is a serious matter and should be brought up regardless because this alarms scam attempt.

Can anyone answer my previous question about backlinks? If they are not correct, obviously it makes this whole project useless.

Nope. The link is buried behind the main URL on the page the anchor is on. See above image on previous post.

Stay away from eBay, dealt with them once and never again!

At OP, you have to name the person you are talking about, as well as provide chat logs and screen shots to prove your claim. Otherwise you could be banned for opening a thread here without providing any information. If you only wish to ask about backlinks, then please open a thread in the correct sect, and have this one closed. Please read the rules before opening a thread here.
