An idea popped into my head after reading http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/forum-suggestions-feedback/546290-read-all-damn-posts-above-button.html. It is nothing new or unheard of but IMO it could be an awesome addition to the forum.
I don't know about you guys but I like to read through those valuable threads within BHW which tend to be pages long. There's quite a few of them. What I don't like is to go through pages of such threads where people either write thank you posts or ask questions that have been answered before, or post some other bullshit that clutters up the thread and makes information less accessible.
So I was thinking, why not implement a "-" (minus) button at the side of each post or something like that so that useless posts can be down rated by users and therefore based on a certain amount of ratings become hidden so that we don't have to sort through crap when trying to access information. Obviously the posts would still be available to everyone but they would be minimized from the general view and anyone that wants to see them would be able to un-hide them. Just like YT comments. There's already the ignore user feature which hides every single post created by such a user so I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to implement a feature like this one.
I'm pretty sure that unless strict rules are enforced it will be unlikely for anything to change in terms of users posting useless posts, but such a feature could most definitely be very beneficial.
What do you think?
