Car Jacking - Be Aware and Careful!

Have fun getting butt raped in jail, but hey at least you saved the car.
I guess your big intelligent self never considered, say, shooting out a tire, eh? No, no alternate solutions provided by you; just insults! Congrats!

Well I don't know where kvmcable lives, so I can't speak for him, but I know that in Texas we have the right to protect ourselves AND our property AT ALL COSTS. Actually if you ask a cop, they will tell you to make sure you kill them (to avoid lawsuit).....

I was just stirring it up messing around, i would be tempted to shoot the guy too. He did say he would have to clean up the mess after hauling him out, which kind of means blasting the guy and not the tire, eh? A gun might scare the guy off or it could make it worse and get you in a shoot out, would I defend myself and blast him if he pointed a guy or tried to stab me, ya.....But ehh, whatever works I guess. I guess in Texas that would work, in California if you were to shoot someone that was trying to steal your car but not attack you, you would probably end up in jail.

LOL, so many know so much about me. I won't go into full detail but will say I wouldn't hesitate or even need to have a thought process to protect myself. People that carry and don't have instincts are dangerous to themselves and others. I would shoot this person without a second thought.

In our State, if the person threatens you with bodily harm you have every right to protect yourself. I'm pretty sure trying to run you over with a car would justify protection under the law. Automobiles can be considered a lethal weapon in the State of Indiana.

If forced to shoot never stop until the bullets are gone. I feared for my life is your answer if asked why. If pressed further you shut up and ask for an Attorney.

I kinda doubt you would really pull out your gun and shoot someone who is stealing your car...

That's the kind of thinking that criminals rely on in order to predate on their victims. That kind of thinking will make you DEAD in Texas, where we all understand pretty clearly that if someone is in the process of stealing your property, you have the right to do whatever it takes to prevent the theft, to include spattering the criminal's brains across the windshield.

I took several well-aimed shots at the back of a fleeing criminal, and it was only because I had a puny .22 automatic that he survived. I carry something heavier, and more accurate now.

I've noticed that weak-minded people have a tendency to believe themselves "normal" and then assume everyone else is weak-minded, i.e. since they would be so terrified of criminal prosecution for killing someone in self-defense that they would do nothing, they assume everyone else is similarly handicapped. That kind of thinking is the 1st step toward getting yourself killed.

NEVER underestimate how quickly a person can react. Situational awareness is something that some people have, and other people do not. Those that do not have it cannot imagine what might happen if they encounter someone that does, i.e, there is a good chance that KVM would have the criminal's brain matter spattered everywhere, even before he even entered the vehicle. Criminals have more to fear from KVM (and people like him) than they other way around, because he KNOWS who and what they are, and what they are capable of, and they haven't got a fucking clue. One prime example of someone that made this critical error is Trayvon Martin. Unfortunately, instead of being used as a constructive and healthy example of what happens when a young person believes they have a full understanding of their situation and (worse) believe they have power, and they are wrong. It will cost you your life. Instead, the situation was used for other reasons and, I believe, many young people will wind up dead as a result of failing to learn from his mistake. He thought he was involved with a purely physical confrontation with a older, overweight and physically unfit "nobody" and that was the last thought he had before he was killed. I find indicators of that kind of dangerously deadly thinking in posts in this thread, and maybe some of you will wind up in the same situation, i.e. dead from failing to appreciate the fact that what you don't know might kill you.

It's a REALLY good idea to simply assume that everyone around you is capable of shooting you dead, right there where you stand, at all times. It help to curb certain notions of violating the peace, etc... and fosters a healthy sense of respect for your fellow citizens.

That whole post was brilliant. I grew up in Memphis and although I don't live there now, part of my childhood was spent there.

Between the age of 7 and 13 I saw 3 people get shot, two of which died in the emergency room. Now these people weren't close to me or anything, just people in the neighborhood I lived in but it taught me enough to not blindly trust ANY stranger EVER.

I'm not paranoid looking over my shoulder all the time or anything, but i'll be dammed if I let someone do something because I was too shocked to react. Peoples view of the world we live in today is far too "perfect", like nothing bad could ever happen to them. Sure it does happen to OTHERS, they see it on the news or yahoo but never THEM.

That is not reality, and a lot of people die daily thinking that it is. To hell with that I like my life and i'll choose it over yours and my potential guilt over killing someone any day.

Out of interest, what did this guy steal or at least try to?

On tangent, this is such a weird reason supporting why everyone should have a cell phone.

I'm not a criminologist, but if this is how car jackers have evolved, it's pathetic in a sad way. When I think car jacking, it's either upfront at a redlight or when the car has been unattended for a long time where it shouldn't be. Stealing an already running car, when someone is right there, and can call the authorities on you within like 5 minutes and have a helicopter in the air because they love that shit looks like the mark of people who are stealing cars to eat, not for profit. It still seems super saddening, like stories of people stealing potatoes and not covering their tracks after a while because of feeling such shame and resignation they are doing what they have to do to survive and are at peace with the consequences.

I'm in a disillusioned place I think. It almost seems that ending these thieves quickly before their hearts can even skip a beat in fear is mercy these days, which is a bit crazy. I don't know.

Stealing is wrong no matter what reason. There are so many ways to make money, when I had a car accident, lost my job because of it, borrowed money to pay for an used car, found a job selling books door to door, got my car stolen while selling books, lost my job AGAIN and on the hook for the hundreds of cookbooks still in the car, and all happened within 2 months; I went out and found a job in a nearby farm, worked my ass off in the fields with no freaking experience in farm work whatsoever as I grew up in the city, and eventually paid back every cent that I owed. So there are no reasons to be stealing in the U.S. In other parts of the world, I don't know. But if you are willing to work, you will survive without stealing, period, so there is no "saddening" in my book when it comes to these able-bodied thieves, they decided to take the easy way out, probably been doing that all their lives and now manifested into breaking the law.

So now the car-jacker has your car, your home address, your money and your keys. Your home and your whole identity has been compromised.

As long as he didn't get my bhw login details then i really don't mind :)

I look forward to the day! I need a new car anyways***theft insurance*** wink, wink!

Now thats a hell of a dog! Why is she riding in the front though? BOOM BOOM!

It'd be a real bad day for a carjacker to pull this shit on me. I carry a .380 in my front pocket all the time. I'd just regret cleaning up the mess after they haul him off.

God bless America :)
