Why $3 a day? You have to start somewhere right? I think that setting a reasonable (and relatively short-term) goal is the way to go. I've been slowly starting this up over the last month. My website is currently ranked 10th on the big G (it's been very slowly rising up), the goal over the next month is to get into the top 5.

What I have done so far:

  • Bought a domain + hosting ( $30 )
  • Bought a couple of backlinking services here on BHW ( $30 total )
  • Bought some traffic * 2 ( $100 )
  • Set up the website and wrote a dozen articles
  • Made a few Web 2.0 sites for some backlinks
  • Started up a twitter account
  • Made some money with Chitika & Adsense ($50 and $64 respectively)

Balance so far:
Costs: $160
Income: $114
Balance: $-46

You are programmer, aren't you? You could make lots more than $3 a day if your programming skills are great!

anyways good luck on your current journey!

I don`t understand you are a programmer and you make money with adsens?

I'm currently a student and am starting up my own company as I'm graduating. I'm not planning to make big bucks with this, just something extra to spend, have some fun and learn a lot more about SEO than I do right now.

I'll love to follow you on your journey.

Earning money while learning is a good thing!

Exactly this!

Let me know what you specialize in? I always need little jobs done here and there.

Good luck with this. The journey is realistic and I hope you succeed.

you're a programmer, so start writing bots. Bots for anything. Bots for whatever you think is tedious to do.

get a job and earn $40 per hour...... wtf
When I do work for my own business I earn more than that per hour and I get to keep whatever profits are left over at the end of the year. I find this a productive way to clear my head at the end of a day, not all of us are in it to make a living out of it, that's what I have the programming for.

Always dream big. Do you know php well ?
Yep, I'm definitely no guru, but so far there's no task that I haven't been able to complete.

I mainly focus on PHP/HTML/CSS/JS, although I use Python for any scraping that needs to be done. I'm not doing any freelance work though , unless you feel like paying my normal hourly rate.

So what is your programing language ? Web base or desktop ? Anyway good luck with your journey.

I wish you luck on this journey. I will be watching this because I too want to become a programmer in the future.

Man, seriously stop wasting your time and energy...... If you can program in Python/PHP/HTML/CSS/ and JS, you can make a serious full time income on eLance, oDesk, etc. Use that money to develop your own software to sell on the Warrior Forum and other I.M. forums. Build your sales page and get affiliates to market your stuff for you on Clickbank and I kid you not within a year or two you can be making 6+ figures.... Building and ranking an Adsense site is Mickey Mouse bullshit, most never make more than a few bucks a day unless you have a very profitable niche, but guess what ranking those takes serious $$$ to begin with. Otherwise to make any sort of bank you're talking about running 20+ sites, with the next update around the corner ready to wipe out all your effort for whatever reason google decides it's going after now..........

If you want to learn SEO, that's great. You should use it to rank sites that will sell your products, not for a few Adsense clicks. SEO is my bread and butter, but if you've got something to sell, sell it! Advertising is your best bet. Make money selling your services, then use that to develop your own products, and get direct traffic via advertising. Worry about SEO when you have money to worry about SEO. Focus on one thing and be great it it. Since you already have a leg up on most Marketers in that yon can program, nurture your strengths.

Good luck. I wish you prosperity.

Fix your fucking goal settings, mate.

$5 a day?

With the mindset like this you'll get 50 cents, maybe.

I'm in the same boat, I go to school for Computer Engineering with a Math minor. I too do adsense and a few other methods. I wish you the best of luck man!

Way to be an ass.. I'm sure in his head his long term goal is to make a shit ton of money. But, like he said everyones initial goal is to just make something then scale it up.

Do not buy traffic! You should use that $100 on more SEO services!

Good luck!
