At OP,
How much of an impact do you believe putting certain words and phrases in bold actually has? I do it myself sometimes but I am really not sure if it has an effect or not. I also don't know how to test out for myself whether or not it does.

I'm not sure exactly how much of an impact has, but I look at it like mixing music or cooking - it's tiny, incremental things that all add up to make a great creation. So bolding/italicizing text is just another little bit of spice that helps with relevance.

I'm sure Google places an incremental amount of weight on phrases that are bolded/italicized because, normally that only happens to text that need emphasis - because its important. So the text that is highlighted like that, should be seen by spiders as important to the overall message of the article.

Just my thoughts, but haven't tested it.

I have a question, for those of you that are so obsessed with tiered link building.

I get the point of why you guys are using these, but here's my question....

Once you've created some perfectly powerful social tiers and start blasting the piss out of them -- it's obvious that this alone will NOT rank a site, let along a competitive keyword.

So -- how many times would someone need to rinse and repeat this process? "Until it works" ?

I've tried this before, and it doesn't work for competitive terms, in fact I rinsed and repeated the task hundreds of times over.

What's your input here?

It really does depend on the site you're trying to rank, the quality of the articles, how you set up your second/third tier blasts, etc. This method CAN work alone. But in my original post, I did mention that this is usually only one part of a larger strategy for me. The key really is diversity of links, volume of links, consistency of links, and quality of links.

Couple this with some high quality money site blasts, high PR links, guest posting, press releases, videos, etc and you'll KILL IT in the SERPs.. But.. even if you just do this strategy alone, you CAN rank for really great keywords - you just have to do it right.

can we create 4 blogs in wordpress from same account for our moeny site as a tire 2 link??

No I wouldn't suggest having one wordpress account with 4 diff blogs all linking to the same site. Looks suspicious.

I don't understand the part where you say that use a proxy or VPN service to create accounts on different web 2.0 platforms.
I don't think Google can sniff the IP address of the user running the blog. Randomizing usernames/e-mail should work better IMO.

Hey, I do believe that G can tell from where an account was created from. At the very least, the platform can tell, and they might limit the number of accounts that can be created from a specific IP.

The location the property/link was built from does have an impact on what geography you rank for. (from my small tests anyway).

Yes definitely. The idea behind Rep Mgmt is to push negative/unwanted results DOWN in the serps. You can use this strategy for that by creating a bunch of high quality web 2.0 sites and treat each one's optimization like a money site - i.e. try to get it ranked on Pg.1 for your keyword, so that you continually push down whatever result you DON'T want showing up.

Lets say I have a .com and wordpress installed. I am going for a medium authority site. Should I be making these web 2.0s and tiered links to my blog posts or to my domain?

E.g. My domain - bestdogblog.com

Keyword: Dog training.
My post is bestdogblog.com/dog-training




Should I be building links specifically to my blog posts or just my domain? Or 80 %for posts and 20% domain?

there are diff schools of thought about this but I think you.re safe splitting your SEO across the different pages youre trying to rank evenly. Normally I have a few head keywords being targeted on the homepage as well, so I'm always building links to various pages on my site and to the root domain.

One thing though, make sure you're building several (10-20) of these web 2.0s for each page you're trying to rank. Don't just make one

I usually target ONE money keyword (and ONE URL), but depending on the amount of web2.0 properties I create, I add in variations that are close to my keywords (broad-match variations). And I always throw in a healthy amount of URL/Brand/Generic anchors. A penguin will jump out of the internet and fuck you if you over optimize your anchor text. Keep it natural.

Second question - this tutorial was about completely unique content. Every web 2.0 propert has completely original, unique, optimized and high quality content. That's part of what makes it an Authority Web2.0 link. Because every post on every blog is unique.

Basically treat every web2.0 you build like a mini money site.

Youre welcome! I usually use Web2.0s, Articles, Wikis, Guestbooks, Bookmarks, Social Signals on tier 2. Pretty much any link I can.

And again, this tutorial was all about 100% unique content. That's one of the keys. Nothing is spun, everything on every property I create is unique.
