Get Twitter Account Verified

Hey Peter,

I've been looking into this, for awhile, also; I've come down to the conclusion that there really is no way around it. As already stated in this thread, you either have to be some sort of "celebrity", or pay a pretty penny, to get that verified check-mark.

Ridiculous.

I have the same thoughts.

I suppose it only makes sence on twitters end.

Most contestants on American singing contests get verified.

If you can network and find someone who has an "In" or deals in PR marketing you could get verified, or if you have 5 songs on itunes you can get verified via Gracenote method. Having followers has no impact on getting verified. I know people with 500 followers who have the check mark.

A lot of reality TV stars get verified as well. Obviously if you're big enough you get reached out to to get your account/profile verified

It seems that linking to your twitter account from 'official' sources (blog, website, facebook, etc) is one of the key things to it.

Twitter states that people are now chosen for Verified accounts. There's nothing you can do to get Verified on Twitter. They choose who gets Verified based on several unknown factors.

Celebs usually use their agents to contact twitter agents to get verified quicker than normal people may do..

I use this forum for everything regarding social media. I've gotten great help. So I decided to create an account sooo Welcome Me! Thank you Thank you. I have 25k followers on twitter and have an album on iTunes as well as Google Play. If you type my name into twitter search I'm all over the place I've had fake pages of me created. Twitter wont verify me and I don't get it. A friend of mine..she is a social media whore... all she does is talk on twitter saying random jokes she has 10k followers (Mostly from me promoting her account) and she got verified! lol WTF

I know several ppl who are verified. Most are quote pages though. As far as that 15,000 price tag.. Thats bogus, ive heard ppl getting verified for a few hundred. Of course I cant blatantly prove it but I can definitely call two ppl with verified accounts.

Its not bogus. 5k a month for 3 months is officially what Twitter charges.

Just because there may be a "few hundred dollar" cost (which I would need to see proof of) doesnt mean that the 15k price is bogus.

I have been offered this by so many different people with so many different price points. $300, $2000, $800, $5000, $1200, $500. It's hard to really believe any of them though without thinking they are just trying to take your $$$ and run without giving you the checkmark.

Lately I've been seeing these strange ironically unverified accounts going around twitter and asking people to retweet them to be considered for verification. I thought it was fake but I've seen them verify a few accounts.
