I ALMOST downloaded it this weekend, but the title sounded stupid so I didn't. Like "unchained melody" or some kind of victorian bodice-ripper, where the handsome Dirk Gently swears upon his dead father's memory that he shall win back the heart of his beloved Patricia, no matter how many shoes he has to sell.

And don't I hate Tarantino for some reason? I forget now. I liked Pulp Fiction, and that Fargo movie, running the lady through the wood chipper (Which, btw, actually happened in this town some years ago. They had detectives sifting through the dirt is someone's backyard looking for bone fragments. If you are going to kill someone, that's a GREAT way to get rid of the body. That is, if you have the stomach for it. Now that I think of it, there are a LOT of people alive today, only because I'm squeamish and will faint dead away at the sight of blood. Oops. Sorry. Caffeine talking there...)

Okay, so I'm going to download this movie right now, and if it sucks I will be back to report how wrong all of you are, and how you should give up critiquing movies and take up something else, like making cupcakes.

Not his best film, but still good! It's great to put one like this in with the rest of his repertoire.

I'm a big Tarantino fan, Pulp Fiction is one of the best movies ever. When it came out, I held off on seeing it because I heard how violent and sick it was. So I finally saw it and yeah it was violent and sick (Go get the gimp...lol) but nowhere what I thought it would be and I loved it. Same with Reservoir Dogs. I heard about the cop torture scene and held off but saw it and loved it.

But I'm hearing that Django is so fucking over the top that even Bill Maher couldn't handle it. I'm not big on long, gratuitous violence but am tempted once again. Anyone care to give their thoughts?

Maybe I'm just desensitized these days, but nothing Tarantino has ever done has been over the top for me as far as violence and gore. There's a scene in a David Lynch movie (Wild at Heart, I think) where a guy gets his head blown off with a shotgun and they show it. THAT gave me the gitters. But that was years ago. Since then, I've seen so much more gorey and violent stuff that Tarantino is tame in comparison... Dead Alive, We Own The Night, Evil Dead 2... I mean jeez, The Walking Dead is pretty brutal, even if it's "only zombies" LOL

Good movie, it has plenty of violence, love and friendship.

The movie starts slow, builds momentum and then the tempo goes up, it slows down for a while and then tempo goes up again and then it finishes big a bang!
