Stay away from freelancer.com

Yea, I am agree with OP. Here is my story.

I did a data mining work for one client of 800$ and he pay me though milestone. Work done perfectly and he released milestone as he was happy with my work.Later after few week my whole fund was reversed to the client and when I contact support than they never solve my issue. Hardly I manage myself after getting this bullshit loss and again try to start my business there and get one more project of $250 and successfully completed and my fund was there for approx 2 month and when I request to withdraw they just reverse it by saying project is invalid. Ask those fuckers that if project was invalid why they allow it to post ? And if posted than why they didn't took the action for 2 month ? Why only when I ask to withdraw ?

That whole make me too much frustrated and its not over here, I lost too much money and on the same way another fucking thing happened, one more reversal of 80$ take place. So its over now and i am no more on freelancer.

So now my question to Matt Barrie that if you want to look over my issue and show this great community that really you are here to solve the issues rather than telling us to contact support because your support is no more able to solve my issues.

My username over there is Allsolutions1989. Lets see what you are going to do over my issue.

Me and this great community waiting for you action.

Agreed. Stay away from Freelancer.com.

I placed a gig once and hired someone, which didn't work out. So i try to withdraw the funds i had deposited, and they fucking freeze my account. Asking for proof documents and shit. Seriously? Took them a few months to release my money.

Freelancer.com is shady as hell.

Freelancer.com seemed to have adopted the same scammy biz model as paypal. Nightmare.

Hi Guys

It's important that when you hire a freelancer that you only pay using milestone payments. This is like escrow. If something goes wrong that means you can always get your money back.

Regards
Matt

You forgot about the part where you guys hold our funds hostage when we try to withdraw them.

You can go kill yourself, along with anyone who works for paypal.

Yeap, i wrote last year about those idiots, Dont use this fucking site, AVOID them

I think we are all looking at this from the wrong perspective... If they are taking all our money and keeping it themselves, my only question is this. How do I work for freelancer? hahaha

Hi AllSolutions

I took a brief look at your account. In this case there no communication or evidence you worked on the project and the employer was unhappy and wanted his $800 back. I don't think this reflects negatively on Freelancer.

Matt

Dennisyu, you are correct in that withdrawals do go through the anti-fraud team first for checking. Just like Paypal we get negative flack because in our businesses money comes in and money goes out again, it's quite different to an ecommerce site. We have to be active in checking accounts to stop for fraud. However in this circumstances it's usually easily fixed, you just need to provide identification to verify that your account is legitimate and the account limitation comes off. You can still work on the site, message and so on while your account is limited.

i am also disappointed with freelancer and now only use them for found the right guy then all deal be out of freelancer
in freelancer a lot scammer +fees too much
i losed their 1220$ (800+420$)

WORST.WEBSITE.EVER

I make my connections through the site and take them out of that excuse of a website and do private deals on the side. PayPal payments keep you secure anyway. Freelancer.com is a total crock of s**t, take all the contacts/freelancers away from that platform = win

freelancer.com is scammers heaven... you will never get any high quality work from there... If you want to scam people by giving them shitty works and stealing their money... or if you have a project and want freelancers do that free for you thats the best place...

most of their people makes money by bid spamming

makes bulk accounts, for example 50, send bid spams on every project, when you won the projects then outsource it to fiverr or other freelancering website at lower price and makes profit!

yup please manage your pre-approved payments. I mean CC is a risk but atleast paypal sends you a confirmation. Cancel it the moment you find anything suspicious.

@GST - still very sneaky. They should tell us that CC and paypal is stored and that you are being upgraded to paid membership. Although yeah story has 2 sides.

So Mr Matt, Thanks for looking over my issue but I told you my 3 issues and you just took over one even though you are the defaulter. Let me explain how.. You guys clearly mentioned that " before releasing milestone be satisfied that you are ok with the work done, because after milestone released we are not responsible". Isnt it ? Second did you ask me to provide evidence before reversing the payment ? How you can do one side decision ? You must ask me to provide work evidence and other details.

And what about the other two issues? I think you don't have time to look over those.

Lets see now what you are going to answer.

AllSolutions

Your $250 project that you were hired for and was cancelled was a money exchange project (buy something with Payza/Alertpay in exchange for payment). These projects are not allowed.
The other bad project was for buying of Twitter users. We don't allow that.

Matt

Freelancer blows, lost $45 there, thankfully it was not any more.
I now use oDesk, much less shady.

I worked on freelancer.com back in the days when it was called getafreelancer.com and even then it was that bad with 2 weeks payment check and no quarantines.

Dear Matt,

Again you caught because tell me one thing if it was a invalid project than why you allow it to be posted ? I know you don't have the answer but I have i.e , you guys allowed that posted because that was a "featured project " and you guys get much fee so you don't worry about it that its a valid or invalid project because you guys getting money by posting that. So you guys just allow to post that project and get your fee and later on reverse the payment. So this way you get your money and eat others money as well. So double profit. Lolzz

And Matt sir whats your answer over my first issue of $800 that was a valid project I think. I am quite sure, you cant satisfied even one single member here.I am challenging you if you can.

Thanks for the OP to open such thread and thanks for the community to bring him here.
