But if you want a more conclusive answer, there are two:
1. TEST - nothing works better than what works for you.
2. IT VARIES - depending on the site/niche/competition, you may get away with more fishy stuff than you would otherwise. Or you may be on a way shorter leash than you would normally. Which brings us back to answer #1.![]()

Yea that makes sense, I guess the general rule here is, as others said, check what the top 5 do and base it on that.
Which makes sense because its never good to stand out like a sore thumb in the SERPS.
I'm going to check with ahrefs tomorrow for a particular keyword I'm working on.
