Starting to realise I need to run windows again :)

From experience , windows is a must in Internet marketing. Too many great pieces of software that can't run on Mac and requires windows.

Depends, I'm totally white hat in what I do and only use 6 pieces of software in my business; Fireworks, Dreamweaver, FileZilla, MS Word, MS Excel and some Photoshop all of which function on a Mac. If you think all this clever software is helping you get ahead in this game you're greatly mistaken.

If you're a Mac user adding a Windows machine or running Windows under emulation gives you additional marketing opportunities. For example, Scrapebox is a great tool that has white hat uses as well. When I get a few more bucks I'll add a Mac to my collection.

Exactly, not having windows only limits you. Honestly my windows operating system does much more for me than my my mac.

If there's one thing I can recommend:

If you use a VPS, get a second monitor. And get yourself a larger primary monitor.

In regards to Mac: Get the desktop, not a laptop. You will be amazed at what Apple can do, and chooses not to, except for their technical market. Fuck Apple; clowns.

Just use virtual desktops by sysinternals and manage up to 3 vps' through RDP, 1 per virtual desktop.

Why cycle through VPS when you can have one that's always on it's own screen?

I have a monitor for each VPS I use regularly, and it's increased my productivity 100% at least.

My main monitor is for my main computer, and that is it. If I need to get to my VPS, I just slide my mouse to the right, left, or up.

But each VPS' has its own dedicated desktop screen when using virtual desktop software. You can use keyboard shortcuts to cycle through each virtual desktop, you dont even have to turn your head! Buying seperate monitors just for managing VPS' is as silly as buying extra pairs of keyboards/mice/etc as opposed to just using a KVM switch. meh.

Look self education is key but please my man, Finish High school. Its critical to get some of these top paying jobs.

At the end of the day yea its some bullshit but you do learn some stuff there you can't teach yourself.

I also believe in self education but only a fool would believe it's better than formal education. Get your GED and then take some College courses. Formal education will save you years of time. Self education is painfully slow and expensive as hell (once you figure out what your time is worth)

Money comes and goes but education lasts a lifetime. I've been very well off and broke 4 times in my life but I always had my education. When you go through the broke cycle without an education you'll be in a bad state. I say when because it's a certainty in life.

Why on earth should he be concerned with getting a "top paying job" when he is already successful in his chosen field and is his own boss? Sure there may come a time where the money isn't as good as it is now. I think that's happened to all of us at some point. But we don't need to go running to get a 9-5 job when things don't work out - you just rethink your strategy and rebuild. That's the great thing about being self-taught is you can always figure out a way to solve any issues that come up.

On another note, to get back on the original subject, you guys have some nice setups in this thread. Gives me some ideas to change my office around
