I also believe in self education but only a fool would believe it's better than formal education. Get your GED and then take some College courses. Formal education will save you years of time. Self education is painfully slow and expensive as hell (once you figure out what your time is worth)
Money comes and goes but education lasts a lifetime. I've been very well off and broke 4 times in my life but I always had my education. When you go through the broke cycle without an education you'll be in a bad state. I say when because it's a certainty in life.
Nice set up but get a bigger desk and get those big screens pushed back. You'll kill your eyes that close. I run 4 screens on my IM machine. All 24" 16:10 aspect ratios with two vertical and 2 horizontal. Not sure how people do it with just one or two screens these days. And mine all have to match. I can't work on mismatched screens or one large one.
My TV in the office is an old 19" and I can't remember the last time I turned it on. I haven't watched an hour of TV in the last month. Waste of fricking time and time is my most valuable asset. Work room should be for work. Play room for playing. Keeping them separate improves productivity.
You're well on your way - keep going but do get your GED and then get some post HS formal education.
Im sorry but I have countless friends who have stuck with school straight after highschool, they are now all my age in their early twenties all making between 12k-40k working 9-5 jobs at places they didnt even have to go to school to work at while Im making 100k+/year at home. What I don't appreciate is wasting my time taking subjects in school that will not progressive me in the direction I want to excel in,Internet marketing.Honestly I grew up extremely poor so it was not painfully slow from going from broke into the glory numbers.Actually took me 3 months to make 1,000 in IM the first time I enter internet marketing 6 years ago now.During this time I have went broke, but this was because of my own foolishness on spending my time in the wrong things, once the money came my focus from internet marketing kind of shrunk until my sites were hit with panda and my world was flipped upside down, however I didn't run to no 9-5 job or panic,I spent countless hours relearning my craft and soon shortly I was making more than I ever did before. As for my big screen tv I have it there in case I want to listen to documentaries play in the background on youtube or news,or sometimes I will take a 20 minute breathier and go on the Ps3 after 7 straight hours of work, however I love work and playing those 20 minutes usually motivate me to quit wasting time and get back to the real fun, making money.
Look self education is key but please my man, Finish High school. Its critical to get some of these top paying jobs.
At the end of the day yea its some bullshit but you do learn some stuff there you can't teach yourself.
My goal is to be the one giving these high paying job,so far Ive been doing so on elance, paying people with degrees fixed amounts of money much higher than minimum wage. So in other words I may not have the skill sets that only a college education can provide me but that doesn't mean I can't obtain these skills with the funds internet marketing provides me. You want to know a story,I have 4 different content writers on elance with all degrees, each with a different level of creative copy skill, and last year around this time they were all really busy and demanding large sums of money from me,now Im rehiring them again for some work I need right now,and its hilarious how none of them are too busy to accept my job and they are all competing with low offers too.Im glad to be on the other side, the one hiring.
I just upgraded my computer and got new monitors. Was doing good for a while with affiliate sales, but now those sites aren't doing so well because of bad SEO services I got here on black hat world. Always be careful of the links you point to your site... meh
Misread that, just don't give up my advise is learn seo yourself and than provide it to yourself or even sell your new found skills.
