Twitter can goe to hell

there has to be a reason why they shut your account down. The only account I have ever had banned on twitter was because I was mass following people. Maybe you posted too many links to your website and they took it as a spam account.

Ways to reduce chance of getting banned:
1. don't do anything that may be considered spam
2. Don't follow people too quickly
3. Don't post too many links when the account is new
4. Post lots of quality tweets
5. Link out not only to your moeny site but other sites as well

I follow these guidelines and still mass follow people often and am still going strong with 10k followers on an account now. I didn't know twitter could send that amount of traffic, I will have to start using it more :)

Get real! You were breaking the rules and are paranoid.....I hear u r r so paranoid that u will not go to football games because u think they r talking about u in the huddle! Dude!,,

As I said, think it was an auto-ban since I was bored and answered a ton of tweets in a short period if time.

As long as your followers are real and interested in what you write it is great for traffic. With 10k followers you should start a blog or something. You could easily get 500-1000 UVs without spamming. I usually made short tweets with a follow up in my blog so people went to tge blog to read more.

I don't believe it was because you tweeted too much in a short period of time. Twitter has hourly tweet limits and if you reach that limit, they'll put you in "twitter jail" which means, you wont be able to tweet for couple of hours after which you can go back to tweeting again. It must be something else or someone reported you as spam.

Buying followers may make them ban?

Wrong. Buying followers can not harm your account. If twitter went on and banned every account that bought followers, they'd have to band 80% of celebrity accounts too. Besides, they have no way of knowing where those followers are coming from. If anything, they'll suspend accounts that are following you, not your account.

Can't you contact Twitter Support? Appeal for your account or something.
I've been using Twitter for years and it's been going fine, I've never been suspended or anything. =/

P.S: I don't think they'll ban you for posting a lot of things in a short period of time.
I posted hundreds of tweets in around 15 minutes and the worst I get was getting put into Twitter jail.

just contact the twitter support - in 2 weeks you will be unbanned ...

Sometimes it takes a lot lesser than 2 weeks though.

OP as long as you "promise" them you wont be doing whatever it is they say you were doing that got your account suspended, they'll give you your account back.

However, I had one of my accounts suspended for good for excessively using the reply and mention module on TA back in the day and no matter what I said, they wouldn't give my account back. Just a heads up

I follow 1k day, no ban. Account has 200k+ followers, 12K following. However, I haven`t unfollowed anyone, and don`t plan on till I follow around 50k. I use tweepi, to follow targeted people so it`s a little slower.
