I posted an Iphone on CL 2 weeks ago and im still getting spam emails ,They try everything they can ,they ask for bank account numbers ,send fake paypal bills lol. It's also really hard to sell them on Ebay with the fake bids and all .

they send you? they always ask for you to send that way, not for them to send.. bcuz if they send then its a loss for them lol

Sorry, by Western Union, I meant "Western Union money orders". They'll send you a forged money order. You'll be able to deposit the funds in to your bank account, but once they bank finds out its not legit, you're responsible.

Post something on CL and you'll see what I mean. They'll offer to send you a money order, often for more money than you're trying to sell your item for.

thanks yall, it was reckin my brain i aint gonna reply hahaha
i go chop your dollar

Kinda sketchy, but I once cashed 4 of these "fake money orders". They were for $1,000 each. They are really good. I think if the bank cashier accepts them that is their fault.

The bank contacted me and said they needed to talk. They told me they were fake, and they needed me to pay. I told them these scammers had me send the money western union. They wanted me to make payments on it, I just stopped calling them. I haven't heard from them and it has been over 4 years. I also check my credit report all the time... I think it's on them, or they would have had me in court. That is why they tried to scare me into paying them... Who knows...

Wtf i never got this i always get legit people

Yeah, I wouldn't even reply it'll just be a waist of your time. It's definately a scam and you posted it on CL. Isn't CL for selling items locally, it's not for selling internationally.

You can't. Their business model is based on conning people out of zero cost.

What you can do is make them work for you-tell them I have like 38000, and to withdraw their ''inheritance'', you will need 2k more,

So, tell them your zip submits pay $1 per submit, so you need 2000 signups from 2000 different US ips and emails... they might be able to scramble that through with their mailing proxies, etc.

that will get you some nice cash...lol...
lol that might work.

If you are up for wasting some time you could have fun with those that try to scam: 419eater{dot}com

Actually it's no laughing matter.

A lot of people seem to think it funny to equate:

Nigerians = scam
Indians = stupid

It's a good thing we're not racists...:rolleyes:

LoL, I don't know where that Indian thing comes from, but as far as Nigerians = scam, I get scam e-mails all the time from people wanting me to ship crap to Nigeria. Stereotypes have a negative image these days, but they still tend to hold true. If it walks like a duck.....

A quote that represents my opinion on the matter
I take offense to your accusation that I am racist, or prejudice, or hold favor of one ethnic group above others. I am not discriminatory; I hate everyone equally, disseminating my unreserved hatred in fair shares to all races, cultures, and creeds.

Not from any personal experience but Ive heard of people getting fake ass emails supposedly from paypal...it says click here to go to your account. It takes you to a bogus paypal page and you sign in and bam they get your password.
This scam was going around a while back. paypal will never have a link in their emails and always look in your browser before logging in for the green bar and the https (s=secure)
Could be why they wanted your name.... definately smells like scam to me

I guarantee you this is a Fishing scam. They're trying to gete your paypal info! RUN!

ok here's what you do. let him think you're going to send it but ask him to provide you with a prepaid fedex label. these guys will do it. i had one guy buy several of them when he was trying to scam me out of some electronics on egay. so after you get him to buy you a few you need to get a box and prepare a treat for him (you may want to outsource this lol). i chose some dog poo and a freshly killed squirrel for my scammer. make sure you line the box with plastic before you ship it. then after you pack the box and use his expensive prepaid label make sure you continue to message him. you definitely want him tracking the package in eager anticipation. voila you just cost him a ton of money (for his country) and got the satisfaction of knowing he was going to open a box of dog poo.
