Okay so i recently came across a couple 8gb ipod touches for dirt cheap do to the economic crises in the us. So I bought them for cheap and reselling them on CL... well just posted another one yesterday and got this email from an interested person....does something here look fishy??

"Dear Seller.i just want to know if this item is still available. I will be offering you
the total sum of $290.00 US including the shipping and handling cost for
international Delivery.I will prefer the package to be send Via USPS or EMS(i
don't really know the price of this item but if it retails more than what i

me your PayPal email address and your full name so i can remit the payment using
PayPal.Your urgent response will be highly appreciated. Thanks and God bless.or you

I dunno, it looks normal to me....

But why paypal? if that was the case the would have bought
on ebay. not buy from someone that lives in another state
not to mention from a CL listing??

Reminds me of those email scams =/ International delivery? Don't only US people use CL?

i tried to sell my iPhone and i got a similar letter, offering me $1000 for a 8GB 2G iphone... so i said ok (bucz i wanted to see what he would do)

and i gave him my paypal and name (fake).

So what he did was sent me an e-mail with a fake page from paypal.. you know when you receive money paypal send you that email saying you got a payment?
thats the email he sent me with my faker name and my paypal email.

then 30 seconds after i got the fake paypal email, he sent me a email saying "please check your inbox for the paypal confirmation email of my payment" and ship as soon as possible because i paid you good money to use the fastest shipping you can get.

then i sent him an email back saying my paypal account is at $0.. and he said "it will have my money after you provide the shipping"

so, just fake your are believing him and see what he does lol

Yeah. just like Joker say.
I got this too.

The buyer did say as soon as I provided the tracking number that paypal would release the money into my account.

But think of it like this. No one is gonna just give you more money for something you are selling. They want it as cheap as possible. So if they are offering you 100 more to use their way, dont do it.

Take care of number 1 first.

Yeah, I get that crap all the time too. Would be nice if there was a way to make some profit off of these Nigerians.

It's just like when they offer to send you a western union money order...it's a scam

just take the money and wait 45 days then he cant get his moneyback then ship it if its all ok

It's just like when they offer to send you a western union money order...it's a scam

they send you? they always ask for you to send that way, not for them to send.. bcuz if they send then its a loss for them lol

You can't. Their business model is based on conning people out of zero cost.

What you can do is make them work for you-tell them I have like 38000, and to withdraw their ''inheritance'', you will need 2k more,

So, tell them your zip submits pay $1 per submit, so you need 2000 signups from 2000 different US ips and emails... they might be able to scramble that through with their mailing proxies, etc.

that will get you some nice cash...lol...

I don't think they are always nigerians, it's a generic term much like band aid (for bandage) or noob (because you might be new to something..) but it dose seem a thou a lot come from there.

But this one no matter where it comes from is a scam!

I kinda like that getting them to sign up to stuff in order to get payment, they won't but interesting idea.

They are just using a fake paypal account. You will still receive the money yet they will not be paying paypal. If im wrong don't shoot me.

Lol, why are you always thinking these guys are nigerians?

Actually it's no laughing matter.

A lot of people seem to think it funny to equate:

Nigerians = scam
Indians = stupid

It's a good thing we're not racists...

Anybody thats willing to pay you more money for shipping of an item that they could easily go to the store and get for a cheaper price is scammin you brother. Stay away..far away.
