You should also do guest posting on quality blogs in the same niche. Also try to get some social activity on your website as this is certainly loved by Google.

Document links are great because google indexes them as huge content pages, and they are valuable. If the documents content is up to par of course

Not to be mean, but what the heck have you been doing before?

Am not good at SEO but whatever i did was, created a blogger, webs.com, weebly.com. Submitted 1-2 articles per day for 5 days in hubmesh.com,
Submitted to High PR Directories just 10-15.

With all of these i got to 2nd page. Then focused on Social bookmarking and Blog commenting. And now am here. ;-)
