E commerce Plugin/ solution recomedations needed that doesnt hurt SEO

I have a existing site built on wordpress that is receiving around 2,000 uniques a day and am not wanting to monetize the traffic with a shopfront.

Can someone suggest what ecom solutions that have had a positive experience with whilst staying withing the wordpress wireframe.


I dont like the idea that alot of these ecom solution sites want us to create a sub domain and place a redirect to there site to host the shop front.

Its very important this is all SEO friendly and organic rankings are held on our root and not some shopping cart reseller.

Im looking to buy something in the next 72 hours so your input is most appreciated.

if you are going to promote your own products, use ecwid, you can insert the catalog anywhere, including wordpress (seo friendly), facebook, blogger, etc. They are great.

I'd look at Shopp plugin or woocommerce. Shopp is $55 but will prob do want you want as it's more powerful out of the box, but woo is free and a bit easy to set up / use, although you'll need to spend to get some of the more advanced pluggins.

Another thing i want to factor in is being able to use a furfillment house 3 months down the track with not having to customize the site all over again.

Ive just checked out ecwid - nice easy setup (paste the html from your admin panel on there site into your page and bang its done)

What are your thoughts though about dynamic page urls.

I want to pick a solution that has a very strong SEO back-end.

Titles, tags, metas, descriptions etc is all very basic on page stuff - im concerned about the site structure as time passes..... Any SEO architects in here that can shed some light on this ?

How it works: when search engine bots open your site, they see the plain-HTML copy of your store. So they can index it completely. However when your customers open your site, they see the full AJAX-driven Ecwid interface. Moreover, if your customer goes to any indexed plain-HTML page from Google search results page, the necessary AJAX page will be opened automatically too.


it still seems to lack in permalink structure.

I really want to make the right decision as changing my mind down the track will be a royal pain in the ass.

WP ecommerce plugins im looking for opinions on - WooCommerce, wordpress-ecommerce, ready-ecommerce.


Features im looking for is - Cart abandonment saving (ive noticed some will email the user to followup on the sale), Strong SEO/link structure, good upsel features, good support etc.
