Becoming a Pinterest Authority

Nice thread. Look forward to hearing more about your progress since I am on pinterest as well. I will share what I know when I get more followers.

Thanks, gluck.

Extremely sorry about not posting my progess over the last few weeks. If you have viewed my previous comments you will know that i have been busy. I can't guarantee daily updates but ill do my best.

Presuming my calculations are correct i would be on Day 22. Have not been pinning for a while so my followers are finding me.

There is nothing to figure out. You pin images, follow people and they will return the favor.
If you can't work out what to do then this method isn't for you.

Really good to see you back, maybe just do a weekly update at the weekend on your progress then it doesn't seem such a chore. I do check back regular to see any updates, I've still yet to jump in and do this but still do plan to, just trying to work out some lose ends on my business plan and how to tie everything in with what I've learnt. I really like the idea of Pinterest but have heard it can be hard to convert traffic into sales cause most people on Pinterest are not looking on there to buy. But I hope to still cash in with creating a blog site they would be interested in and making it easy for them to save as a fav site and use for when they arein a buying mood. I'm sure Pinterest can be profitable along with youtube and concentrate on these two and the blog. Then you post, all pins and videos and new articles automatically to your twitter, facebook page and google +.

Don't really have time to do them all and learn facebook marketing, I know all that is huge, but I think if you spend time on your blogsite and use affiliate links or cpa to monetize its pages and expand it into an authority site over a few months will be the way I'm going to do things.

Cheers

Great result so far, I started my pinterest campaign a month ago, got around 600 followers in the first 2 weeks but then slowed down cause I was busy with my main project. But still I got new followers every now and then.

Eager to see your the result after you start promoting mate. I'll re-activate my pinterest campaign soon.

Edit:
Oh btw, I pinned images and added my url few times during the campaign, drive the traffic to my adsense blog, and they click ads. Not bad for adsense site.

Might just throw up a quick blog with some adsense on it. Not a bad idea, generate some income while im waiting for my followers to increase.

Yes probably blogspot site also a good idea to attack several niches, just one page blog with adsense ad blocks without any navigation link.

I also started doing same after seeing this journey.I'm now at
followers:2632
following:5630
total pins:3626
total Likes:386
total board:17
I had also some good board once but i lost them due to over pinning or something.
The real problem at this point is how do i make sure my pins reach category page?
When i pins on relatively active board with more than 4000 followers my pins get like about 10-15 repins but i think all these are from those follower and pins don't reach category.

Could anymore help me to get to category page.I think only going to category page or popular page will drive decent traffic.

What is the best way to monetize such traffic?I'm currently using adsense.

Great result mate.

I got invited as a guest pinner in couple of boards, do you guys know what is the advantage I get to pin on these boards?

If the boards have several thousands of people following it then when you post an image they all see it. More people following the board the more traffic you will get.

You're not understanding his question.

Just have to hope you're images become popular or you get lucky and they appear on the category pages.
Probably is a certain method to it but i have not looked into so i can't really help.

2,000 Followers (Well close enough)
Bought a domain the other day, long time since id edit a theme so its taking longer than usual to get things going.
I had a look around for a site like mine that i plan to make, only came across ONE and even then the site has been
forgotten and left to die so hopefully once the site is up and i begin making images link back i should begin attracting
a lot of traffic. That's the plan, just have to wait and see how it goes.

Thanks

I can understand how to get followers (being there, done that). More images you use, more 'likes' you give to other people, more specific niche you are choosing - better chance you have for followers. Keeping up with your boards helps, of course. I had number of followers growing steadily and that slowed down when I stopped updates.
I am following the thread. It is getting more and more interesting. We are coming closer to 'monetizing part', right? when you would start your monetizing stage, please make sure to give some breakdown, if you don't mind.

I have been using Pinterest for 3 days with funny pics but having trouble picking up followers, I have followed 126 people that have same amount of follows as they have followers aswell

I head of possibility of your domain/site being banned from pinterest. how do you go about protecting against that as you scale up and start monetizing? would using tinurl work? or some sort of PHP redirection?

"Nope, forget about it. Pinterest warns the user, when it's a redirection. This drops of your traffic xx %. Think one lvl more up. "
