guys stop writing bullshit about trademarks if you have no clue.Flippa is a trademark no question asked but they are for sure not a trademark for each and every category which exist.You are just not allowed to open a website with content which is in the category of their trademark.You can have the name and as long as you dont break the trademark categories you can do whatever you want with that domain.But if you ask me what do to with the domain i would recommend just delete it as it was a stupid move cause this domain has ZERO benefit

I'm sorry but there's nothing I can do, Flippa is a trademark which forbids you to allow the domain on Flippa and we're not looking to expand the domains we currently own.

No you can't do anything you want with the domain (I've actually been through this with Amazon)

What flippa are saying is they don't want to buy your domain - not the same as saying you can put up a "site/domain selling" site

As soon as you do that you will be in legal hell, and wide open to being sued for damages, as you will be "trading" on the flippa name

If they should try to do anything about it, it will create a lot of fuss and i could then just redirect everyone to a new cheaper site that will have nothing to do with their name at all.

I don't see why your giving OP a hard time... I'd have bought it. If a C&D letter comes in then just hand the domain over... Its only $10. It's peanuts.

It may be $10 but what matters is the hours of development time put in it, only to have the thing closed down as soon as it takes off.

What I don't understand is why Flippa don't want to buy the domain... Hell, they didn't even offer you like $50 for it.

Why on earth would Flippa pay you $50 for it? Or $2 for that matter?

Flippa don't give a rat's back side about the domain name as long as it doesn't interfere with their trademark (i.e. offer a product or service that either benefits from using the Flippa trademark or connects to it in some other way not beneficial to them). And once it does, it literally takes a few letters to make you hand over the domain to them - for free, not for $5, $50 or $5 million.

So in short, there are four options with this domain name:

1. Create something completely unrelated to Flippa's business (obviously a horrible idea as the name "flippa" isn't really the greatest name around, and neither is the .im TLD)

2. Create something related to Flippa and stay under the radar / make no or little money

3. Create something related to Flippa and, get a C&D as soon as it takes off and hand everything over to Flippa (for free)

4. Forget that you ever even bought the domain name and move on to something that is actually worth doing.

Just having a domain won't help you. To develop something like flippa would actually cost you hours of development. If you can't develop then it would cost you thousands of dollars for sure.

What I would suggest is, forgot that you ever bought this domain, come up with a brand new name and work on the script.
