I'm looking to hire writers for a Google News website that I run. What you'd be doing is sniffing out a well trended story and rehash the news in your own words.

*You must be able to write in NATIVE US ENGLISH, as this is primarily a US site.*

Categories are Sports, World News, News, Tech, Business, Politics, Entertainment gossip, just to name a few. We have a broad range of topics. All articles should be a good mixture of all areas and not just target one specific area. Our overall theme for site is Urban News & Entertainment. Think of our site as the Huffington Post with a more street edge if that makes sense even though we basically talk about the same things that Huff Post has.

Strong familiarity with Wordpress and SEO is a plus. Must know how to title articles for SEO purposes. We even have a plugin for that, that makes things a whole lot easier. You also must know how to use Google images to grab image for article as well and "feature" it. Must also be familiar with Tags.

I even have a tutorial on how to go about doing that if you're not familiar already. And I even have a list of websites that fill several niches on my website where you could simply copy the articles from as well.

I'm looking for between 5-10 articles posted daily and spread out through out the day, to which you could schedule using Wordpress scheduler to schedule in advance.

As with most news website, the timelier the topic, the better. It's imperative that you try to find the hottest and most trending story NOW, as in the right now because that's simply how Google News works.

The pay is $1.00 an article but will be open to bonuses depending on your articles ad performance. With our site being in Google News already, we get indexed almost immediately and if your articles show increased ad revenue, we're definitely open to bonuses. We would like for each article added to site to get 1,000 views if not more which is plausible. If you have the uncanny ability to write news articles that bring traffic, this gig could be for you.

You will be paid weekly, every Friday and must submit to me a listing of URLs for the week for me to base the pay on. I can pay by PayPal, but I prefer Odesk since I have an account with them and it gives you added assurance that you will be paid since you can review my ratings and such. I also have this job posting there. Just wanting to broad my horizons.

I will leave this board open to any questions and I'm not going to hire everyone who says they're interested. I'm looking for a good 2-3 people that can start immediately. I will update post when I found what I'm looking for.

I can't post link to my site on this post, but I can assure you that site is top notch. PM me for a link to the site to see if you can contribute. But I would also like for you to send me some links to some of your work as well. I won't consider you unless you provide writing samples first.

When PMing me, please 1.) Include links to some blog posts you've written before...direct urls please to a few articles and not just the site name because I want to see what you've written and not anyone else. 2.) Let me know if you're on Odesk so I can send you link to job for you to apply there. 3.) Let me know when you can start and how many posts a day you can do. 4.) That's it!

Also, this job is definitely for someone who works well independently while at the same time has a constant line open for communication because there may be times when I need to get a hold of you right away.

Again, I will answer any questions pertaining to this job on this posting and will update it once all positions are filled.

This job would also be the ideal fit for someone who's already doing a similar gig elsewhere. We don't mind you reporting the same things you're reporting on another site as long as it's rewritten and fits our theme and goal for our site.

Thanks!

Top notch site and you are paying $1 USD an article!

Please - please show some respect to BHW and all it hundreds of thousands of valued members!

Best take this type of insulting offer to another forum where you can find primates of the Haplorrhini suborder and simian infraorder!

Thank You.

Please don't be like that. Try not to offer $1 per article. Being listed in Google News means serious cash. Make it a little higher.

i wasnt gonna post but the $1 an article is an insult especially for the experience op is asking for.

but good luck op lol

1) This should be moved to the hiring a freelancer section.
2) $1 per article.. really?

Who is going to produce original content for just a dollar these days?

This should be moved to the GTFOH section.

I actually read that entire post, was impressed at the detail and how the Op wrote out what he was looking for.
Then I got to the $1.00 / article and thought it must be a typo.

This is the wrong place for $1.00 / article. Anyone who can write to the level that you need will definitely be looking for more then $1.00 an article.

If you are trying to get 5 articles, timely spread throughout the day, that are Google News Worthy you are looking at spending about $25 to $30 bucks per day. At the end of a week, we are talking $175 on the low end. You were only trying to pay $35. That's a big difference.

Good Luck with that.

I can write about Sports like nobody's business; but for $1.00 per article, you are going to get a writer that thinks the Los Angeles Dodgers are an inner city gang.

Get out of here with those prices.

If you want a very experienced writer with high quality work, up the numbers a bit and we can talk.

I will spintax the SHIT out of sports articles for 1 dollar an article.... pm me if you want terrible software spun articles please

My bad guys, lol... I'm new here as you can tell by post count...meant to not offend anyone. I'm getting a lot of bites on Odesk so I may just stay there. I thought since articles were rehashed news that it was cheaper. I was just trying to see if anyone else would be interested. You live and you learn.

And seriously, I thank you all for your input. I have some other kinds of articles that I would need for site and may pay $5 per article for those. Just not ready for that at this time. And truth be told, my adsense earnings have been low ever since that Google update. At one point I was making enough to pay perhaps $5/article, but now I make NOOOOOOO where near that amount. If someone understands how to beat the Google update and is able to guarantee Adsense revenue increase, I'm willing to listen to their offer. Just PM me. And include email because I can't respond to PMs just yet....but I'm open to all suggestions. I probably should've stated this in original post, but this is what I meant when I said that I will offer bonuses.

Why did I even read this thread? OP you stooped too low seriously. For God Sake, please respect the standard of this great forum.

Again, I repeat that I'm learning as I go along. No need in repeating the same stuff all over again. I'll be back again when I am ready to make a better offer. And at this time I'm not until I get this Google update figured out, which is one of my reasons for joining forum in the first place.

In that case, all the best. I wish you'd be back with a bang. No one intends to insult others intentionally but if water goes beyond head, then corrective measures have to be taken. If you want high quality content in the future, then knock me but, please avoid cheap offers. :D

Cheers :)

No problem. I'm actually reading other threads now on this and trying to see what standard procedure are on these forums.
