So sorry to hear about your doggy :( there is a underlying lesson in this tragedy... GET YOUR DOGS IMMUNIZED ASAP if they did not come with records!!!!! I hate it when doggys or kitties die makes my heart drop....and yes I know sometimes its too late for the vaccines....:( :( :(

I am so so sorry. I follow animal rescue blogs, and I know Parvo moves quickly and can be deadly.
Just read this whole thread.
Toxtom is an asshole, maybe you should report him.

i'm sorry for your loss, i lost my cat a little under a year ago and i'm still upset about it. it's amazing how much of a strong bond and attachement you get from stupid little animals like that.... :/

hope you feel better

So I just checked my PM box and found this from a guy named Toxtom

wtf?

What a dickhead. How old are you, Toxtom? I say ban him!

ForeverNever,
I feel your pain, bro. I love dogs. Ive had dogs all my life, but ive never had one go so young like that. It must be hard. Sorry for your loss, bud.

Really sorry about your loss. I've had many dogs in my life and it always tears me up when one of them goes. They ARE a part of the family. I wish they could live longer. Just watch your 10 year old and pray that it didn't get the parvo. There's not a lot you can do if they get it. Best wishes.

To parvo. he threw up sunday and didn't think much of it, monday i noticed he wasn't eating or drinking, then tuesday he wouldn't eat or drink again, so i scheduled a vet appointment for wednesday. they gave him some medicine and an IV drip to take home and he died in the night. he was about 1 year old.

Now the mission is to protect my other dog from it. She's 10 years old and small. I took her to the vet today to get her vaccinated for it but it won't stop it all. I have to watch her closely for 6 months.

I didn't know anything about this disease until yesterday, and I hear a lot of people lose their dogs to it. So if anyone has an tips for anything that would be great.

I am sorry to hear this. I saw my friends cat die in a similar way this summer. It was very sad. (((((((((((ForeverNever)))))))))))))

sorry to hear buddy. Lost my dog of 14 years and 8 months not too long ago. It's like losing a family member..

Sorry to hear about that mate. My Rotty had Parvo a year ago and he nearly died, it was an awful experience .... very upsetting seeing him like that.

I would bleach your entire house, mop your skirting boards, anywhere in the garden where there may be traces of the virus (feaces, urine or where the dog was sick).
Parvo can survive for something crazy like 2 or 3 years in your home.

Hope all goes well mate.
