+How to Market Android App

Apologies if this is a duplicate post.

I have an app on android market (YouAreHere). Its free and mostly been organic growth so far. I wanted to know how to market/promote that what are both free and paid ways of doing that.

Also does anyone have experience with adMob SDK or any other cross-promoting SDKs? How effective are they?

I've got some good experience... firstly, look into PhoneGap, you can build your app to multiple platforms for all the app marketplaces.

I've gotten some great results marketing my apps within apps... have you looked into that?

Lets just say that I need to have native experience for now.
I haven't looked into apps within apps marketing, any recommendations?

I've started to look into appbrain, admob and airpush. Are there any others?

I would be great if people who've had gone thru one of the other methods of marketing/promotion can share their experience briefly. Not only app within apps or specifically for apps, experiences may include paid reviews and positioning and how those work or any others?

Think about how you heard about angry birds. Really, start thinking about some of the silly phone games you heard about and from where. You will mostly find grey hat techniques used in that promotional that grabbed someone's attention. Finally, take a good look at the top apps in the android market and see if you can't trace back (using Google, etc) where the sales promotions and such came from and why.

There is also RevMob, but I haven't personally tried it.

I am getting pretty good results with AdMob, in a few apps I have made.

I wrote up a reply about my experience but it triggered a noob mod filter. So I'll give a quick reply and hope it goes through. Do everything you can to promote it before going the paid route. Paid will only kill your ROI from my experience at least.

paid route was advised by some at android central.

DarkPixel: Admob is pay per click and though it is available for mobile it may eat up my miniature budget rather quickly.
FNG123: I was at a mall and saw couple of guys distributing their "app cards" with QR on it. something that I never thought about. May give it a try.

Paid reviews is probably not a route for me, after some research I found no convincing that these things really work. Social Media never fails. Try to utilize Facebook, Twitter, and even Pinterest.
