Russian Footer Links Are Killing It

i showed and example in my thread:

Code:
[URL="http://www.tim.co.nz/about.html"]tim.co.nz/about.html[/URL]

check the almost invisible backlinks at the bottom - some are russian, one is english...

Haha this site here
Code:
www.sassystar.co.uk/
is a polish site which has just hit #1 in google for those kind of sh#ty links it does my head in... because they have loads and there profile is very diverse in terms of CMS platforms and I agree with the member further above anchor diversity doesn't really matter. But the Russians are quite hardcore and I don't know if it is a combination of hacking with the fact that it could be that their domains are worth pennies or in US terms cents.

But I could agree with you all that it possibly 99.9% SQL injection without the webmaster knowing.

A.k.A Hardcore Russian Hacker

Expertpeon alluded to this in another thread and I can confirm in a weight loss related niche with a kw that has over 200K searches p/month a top 5 result is had with mostly Russian footer links but they are not sitewide links.

The broader picture is "Why" they are ranking. Essentially these are sites with some pages to them, they are not sites that are terribly thin. They have multiple images and even though I cannot read Russian they likely have content. ALL of them have page rank, typically 3+. The anchor text is this situation is varied but the page it lands on is highly targeted to the keyword....

Question is where do I get some? LOL

***Edit they are no longer top 5, they are #1... Since we are in the same niche I estimate this kw has a value of $20k per day or more....

Can you share the following characteristics of the backlinks: page pr, domain pr and alexa rank

If possible just check 3 - 5 backlinks for the above parameters.

Thanks

so you have joined bhw to report stuff to google ?
i saw you started your thread "journey to 100$ a day". you think what you are doing in your thread is BY THE RULES OF GOOGLE? i cant tell you its not....how would you feel if someone would dig out your domain and report you ? imagine you now just f up some big guy here on bhw with your reporting...what you think he would do if he finds out ?

No you cannot use paypal on sape. If you don't have webmoney, you can use visa/mastercard. You need to confirm you CC tho before you can pay. They block random sum (1-7 Rub, that's a few US cents) on your
card and you should check this sum and input exactly this sum it in the field. just like you confirm a CC in paypal.
But I recommend you to get a Webmoney account and find a way to exchange paypal for webmoney.

Also I think I need to copy my answer to a PM here:
"
This is not _my_ service at all.
These services are basically paid links with monthly fee.

Anyone can add their site to this service as "donor". Donors put links on their sites and get money for this. They deside themselves how much money they want for a link on particular page on their site.

Anyone can join as "acceptor" and pay for such links. When you need links, you join, create project, add pages of your site to this project and for each page on or more anchors and aroundlink text, up to 100 characters together. Then you look for donors (filter them by, for example PR, domain age, outbound links count etc, there are many filters, and pay for links on donor sites. So your site will have new inbound backlinks.
There are tons of donors in these services, I think way more than in all paid blog networks together. Most of the sites are in russian, some in english and other languages.
Do backlinks from these sites work? Yes, absolutely, this can be seen in SERP. Can you rank just by using these links? Used to be so, now it depends on keyword. Can these backlinks damage your site? Debatable, but still probably yes, they can, if you choose bad donors. You may need to have a common sense and good filters to choose the pages which will benefit most as a backlink source for your site.
"

Update: Also I have to add - some of these links are indeed on hacked sites, as you can hack a site and put sape code to it. Percent of such sites is negligible tho, 99.9% are legit.

My Competitor Is Ranking with 200 PR 0 - 2 Footer Backlinks For 200K Exact Searches Term and I have Variety of PR4 - 7 Links and more then 800 Backlinks still he's outranking me ... seems like footer links on unique template and aged domain with very low OBL is what really carries the value

Are these from .com or ru. domains?

these are hacked websites on link-trading platform like sape.ru

this is how kids are making money. they hack websites and sell high PR domains with ftp access to it in bulk.

I've been trying to figure out which niche you are referring to, pretty sure I know which one. If so, get out of my niche (been a major player there for awhile):)
200k searchers/mth ... not too many niches that large. The site in question is actually NOT making $20k/day... my guess is <2000/day (since it's an affiliate site if you're talking about what I think you are). This site did NOT survive penguin, rather, they didn't start it until after penguin. So maybe I'm wrong about the niche (the site in this niche was #1 like 2 weeks ago, so maybe you're talkin about a diff one).

I've had 4-5 sites rank #1-#3 in this niche's major terms in the last year for periods ranging from 1-3 months and I know precisely how many sales/day etc occurs at the top. Affiliates tend to do a whole lot worse than stand alone brands. These sites will last a month or so, which will generate 60-100k or so for them. A good amount, but not 7 figures. With a stand alone brand, zero affiliate costs, no overhead etc, you'd need ~10-11 months across 3 related keywords to make 7 figures in that niche (been there, done that). CPA in that niche maxes out at around $10/sale (maybe $20 if you choose one company, which is VERY pricey and most people won't buy there).

I've seen a LOT of sites lately ranking via these footers, which previously didn't work too well (thanks Penguin 10/7?)
I know of 7 major (MAJOR) weight loss niches with them in the top 5 as of yesterday afternoon. I do not market in all of those niches, just things I've seen.
I can only assume a lot of other niches are overrun with them at this point.

We may simply be witnessing the redirection trick that worked for a period of about 2 months after Penguin 1.0, but this time it's with footer farms. These sorts of things have been historically poor, but are working now perhaps for a brief period of time.
By the way, in all cases, they have no other links besides these footers from russian sites.

90% is .ru

There's no PayPal in Russia (stupid PayPal), so Webmoney and others don't mess with it. And it's obviously they don't want another competitor.

There is oficially, since 1st November https://www.paypal.com/ru/webapps/mpp/home and many people, including me, used it before for ebay and other online shops via attached CC.
But paypal is shit as transactions could be reverted easily, that's why noone wants to get hands dirty with paypal.
Still it is possible to exchange wmz for paypal, you just need to check on ru webmasters forums like masterx.
