Have you guys noticed it? Top 6-figure monthly profit niches are being dominated by websites that have backlinks coming mostly from domain.ru (or ukrainian .ua). I could name at least 10 niches where this is happening bu I don`t want to out the sites no matter how much do I envy them :)

What makes it funny is that the quality of their websites is mostly poor and their anchor/link type diversity is almost non-existent (tactic that is totally vise verca from the mainstream opinion here). I am wondering if their links are coming from hacked sites (some of them look just like that) or are they just paying for them...

Hey, I noticed the same thing too. I'm going to check to see if I can grab some of those links on Fiverr right now.

I am on a niche where the #1 is using hidden footer links from PR4 to PR7 ru and not ru websites. So i assume they are hackers. I was going to report one of them because it's unethical.

Expertpeon alluded to this in another thread and I can confirm in a weight loss related niche with a kw that has over 200K searches p/month a top 5 result is had with mostly Russian footer links but they are not sitewide links.

The broader picture is "Why" they are ranking. Essentially these are sites with some pages to them, they are not sites that are terribly thin. They have multiple images and even though I cannot read Russian they likely have content. ALL of them have page rank, typically 3+. The anchor text is this situation is varied but the page it lands on is highly targeted to the keyword....

Question is where do I get some? LOL

***Edit they are no longer top 5, they are #1... Since we are in the same niche I estimate this kw has a value of $20k per day or more....

I am not familiar with hacking to rank, how do you know these are hacked sites and not just some sort of paid link scheme? How can you tell the difference?

Seems to me they have a system which will atract attention and end up being penalised if not then some of the guys on here can probably jump on it too. Like others who have posted I have no idea how you know they have hacked spammed or whatever just they make money and for the most part I dont!

Yeah, I was just reading about that. They have a portfolio of something like 500K websites, seems to be working fine in super high volume niches. Even if you are slapped at the next update you may have made 6 or 7 figures by then..

footer link from ru domain my wildest guess would be a variation of the blackhole exploit, or CURL injection in WP theme they release on nulled themes directories.

That is not hacking. The owners of the sites add their sites in sape and take money every month for selling links. The reasin that the links is soo powerfull is that they are not sitewid, and they are in good sites. The links are verry cheap but you need to know good russian lang to understand everything. There is a verry crapy links in sape and buying them si a wast of time. The SAPE forum is verry good but as i say, everything is in russian. If someone is interested of buying links from sape can write me. I can manage campain for him for free. I just getting discount and that's my win.

I found that out some time ago as well (check this thread almost 2 months old). These are paid links i think - i thought google is fighting paid links for long time :) they are quite loosing i would say - sites with these backlinks dominate my niche right now...

The sites are not hacked. Those are paid links mostly coming from the Sape network. The sites on the network are mostly good quality with good content. The thing is, Russians know how to hide paid link footprints.

I've seen hacked links, inserted with the help of SQL injections or infected servers.
These ones end up mostly in the main menu, where a certain page from the site, leads to another site as a backlink.

#1 to #9 on your fav SE
Footer links, site wide links from non relevant high pr pages and non extistent anchor text optimization = Ranking for tough keywords...

What does this say about bhw and the state of SEO? Every second post on this forum this year I see says something along the line of:

"Its all about content, quality content is whats making me rank and also my super duper quality backlinks... its all about quality you know"

    OR

"Build relevant links man, you need to build targeted links from sites in your niche... also you should use this super duper anchor text ratio of 4 : 3 : 2 : 1, where 4 is your tld anchor, 3 is your longtails, etc etc"

    OR my favorite...

"Social is making me rank, trust me go crazy with your social signals and you will rank for anything"

    ------------

To be honest with you guys, this kind of rhetoric is making me sick. I don't frequent this forum as much as I used to because it feels like the majority of the posters are little chickens running around with their heads cut off like every single day.

Before you criticize me, I remember browsing this forum last year... it was so fresh, so innovative, something different. Now its either someone complaining because they suck at seo (but don't tell them that, they won't believe you) or someone promoting their upcoming bst via a thread with some ugly diagram, bolded letters while pushing the garbage mentioned above.

Hey maybe its just me, sometimes people just outgrow certain things (like the need for validation on an online forum).
