This is maxbounty's tactic, they ask for more traffic then ban your account.

I am sorry for you, you learned the lesson the hard way, move to more reputable networks other than maxbounty.

I lost 657 dollars, not much but I was hoping to get a new computer. My friend got this same situation.

"Can we help increase sales?" -- "Your account has been terminated".

And I haven't been running any ads in the last few days. I didn't break the rules, I basically ran one ad through blogs, according to my AM that was fine. I wrote a story about Sony's new cloud gaming service, explained what the cloud was, then told them a good place to get cloud storage. I got a lot of clicks and only 5 or 6 conversations but at about 140 each it wasn't bad. They did exactly what everyone else said happened to them. I can only vouch for myself but I got screwed out of my money, I am moving on to other CPA's now. Just thought I would leave my story, because it is very similar.

This is maxbounty, they ask you for more traffic then they ban you.

I am sorry for you, it's time to move to a different reputable network.

While I don't enjoy reading negative comments about MaxBounty, I accept that everyone is entitled to their opinions. This being BlackHatWorld, I know that most people's opinions about us won't be the best as it's our responsibility to keep our network clean of fraud and some of you have been terminated because of that. I also know that regardless of how fraudulent someone's traffic is, it did take them a lot of work to create that traffic, and I agree it can be frustrating for that person and venting publically can be therapeutic.

I can handle that kind of negative feedback because I know where it comes from, and for the most part it comes from a place of honesty.

But I won't sit silently for blatant lies such as this where someone is trying to piggyback on another thread and try to soak up the sympathy that is most certainly undeserved.

Dante848, you were NOT running one ad through blogs. You and your buddy Jonathan (most likely someone you met at BotNet) were spending time filling out leads for each other. Your traffic was not surfers coming through your blog and signing up for the offer. Instead, you and Jonathan filled out the forms yourselves with fake data. All of the leads to the campaign from both of your accounts came from only two different computers.

As I've said before, and I'll say it again, we only terminate people who violate our terms and conditions.

This is a major misconception on your part, and unfortunately on the part of most people who participate in this forum.

Once we catch someone that needs to be terminated, we do not encourage them to increase their traffic simply so they can pad their numbers leaving us with more to "keep" when they are actually terminated. Doing so would be stupid and risky as the actions for which we terminate affiliates are actions that get us in trouble with advertisers (through lost campaigns and unpaid bills) and third party litigation.

Let me touch on two other things related to this thread. First, affiliate managers are not part of the compliance team. Their job is not to second guess affiliates, look for problems or terminate affiliates. Their job is to work with the affiliate, with the information they're given by the affiliate, to help them make more money. So it's not surprising to get "good job" e-mails from affiliate managers if you are doing any sort of volume, even if you are breaking the rules. Why? The affiliate managers don't know you are breaking the rules.

Second, there are tons of threads on this forum about masking/blanking/hiding your real sources of traffic when you are breaking the rules. Does it really surprise anyone that masking, etc. works? So when a network sees traffic coming from siteABC.com and the affiliate says "yeah, I'm buying seach traffic", why should we dispute that? 99% of affiliates are truthful about their traffic, so we have no reason to think that a cheater is really lying about their traffic and comment spamming.

But masking, etc. is not fool-proof. Eventually, a referring URL leaks, or the third-party social network complains to us, or a social network user complains to us, etc. When we find someone breaking the rules, we act swiftly and decisively, regardless of how many times the affiliate manager previously communicated with the affiliate.

Think that's unfair? For every affiliate who is terminated with $X in their account that's been left unpaid, there's an affiliate who's been paid $X for their leads even thought we didn't (because of the fraud).

Still think it's unfair? That's just too bad. If you don't want to run the risk of having your account terminated, stop breaking the rules and stop sending fraudulent traffic. Simple as that.

If you aren't breaking any rules, you have nothing to fear, and our 8+ years history as a successful network is a testament to that.

You only pay their share when they get the money for you. Your current location doesn't matter but the location of money collecting agency should be in same country or same state in US as the CPA company that owe you money is.

They will harass them so much that finally they agree to pay your money, they will call every one, including their advertisers, business partners, some affiliates and one of those agents said, we even call the owner dad and mom and asking them to tell their son to pay us...

As blackhats, it's your duty to take matters into your own hands. Don't let thieves steal from you when you have the tools to shut them down. If I were this Scuba Steve dumba$$, I wouldn't make threats to someone who he claims to have apparently "verified" was dealing with a botnet. That same botnet can be turned back onto you and kick your profits in the a$$, shutting you down. If there's one rule affiliates and the owners of those programs they promote alike abide by, it's "Follow the money". A program owner has a problem with an affiliate, he follows the money trail until he uncovers who is profitting from those links then gets that person shut down by way of cutting off the money flow (via legal means, chatting with fellow program-owners to ban that individual etc...). Now GET OUT THERE and shut down any thieving company, stop bltchlng and just do it. You'd be surprised how easy it will be, and how quickly people like Scuba Steve will change their tone in these comments once the $HlT starts to hit the fan on their bank account. What bank paid out to you that was associated with Scubasteve? Get the wrench into the system starting with that bank. Who registered his domain? Are the account details verifiably correct? If not, the domain can potentially be seized. Or siphon his traffic with your own domain and a little SEO, I'm sure you can get other BHW guys to help with SERP bombing if they had the same experience and the last thing anyone would want is to have SEO geniuses against them, and then you throw blackhat SEO geniuses on top of that is a recipe for ruin...

This is why I like networks like *******, they have (at least for me), kept it "real". If my traffic is good, they'll tell me that and I'll invest more, if it's going downhill, they'll let me know. They won't tell me to push more traffic just to get a little extra from the advertiser before terminating.

So far from what I've seen in this thread though, MaxBounty is in the wrong, not only should the affiliate managers and compliance team work together (wouldn't make sense if they didn't else they'd fighting against each other). Not only that, but the advertiser paid MB, and they still refuse to pay their publisher? Shady.

I enjoy coming into threads like this and reading complaints and accusations of a network stealing a few pennies from affiliates as if the network valued a few dollars over a long lasting relationship with a quality affiliate.

It makes sense that they have a compliance team that is separated from the normal affiliate managers. It makes sense that once an affiliate starts running a larger volume of traffic, that compliance looks into the traffic being run to verify its authenticity.

A company like Maxbounty is not interested in making enemies in the industry, it is trying to establish worthwhile relationships with people who drive legitimate traffic. Any other affiliate program manager or advertiser will say the exact same thing.
