If giving you +8 rep is a dig then sure, I had a dig
I don't actually personally have any issues with you despite throwing a few personal insults in there and despite your quite vicious insults towards me. It's just a discussion on a forum. I don't wish anything bad on you and I actually hope you do well and recover from your SEO problems.
Most people take life too seriously. It's fun to have a heated debate and even throw a few personal remarks, but at the end of the day I'm not going to hold a grudge.. I still disagree with you of course, but whether people agree on stuff isn't really all that important.
Did you even take a look at who wrote this news report?
![]()
It is that dumb ass, ditzy, blonde sorry excuse for a reporter called Cadie Thompson. Cadie is not an economist, she is a tech blogger. She does not report news, she reports rumor. Here is another brilliant piece by Cadie.

Oh wait, it is almost exactly the same article posted four months ago but that time it was about Facebook. Maybe she has a template?
What is even worse is that she quotes Eric Jackson, another tech reporter. I am sure he doesn't have an agenda right? Well..... almost every article he writes about Apple is positive, he thinks they will buy Twitter soon and use it to destroy Facebook. Yet, almost every Google and Facebook article he writes is negative. Not exactly an unbiased opinion then?
Well none of this matters to you does it? As long as it's anti-Google you are ready to open wide and swallow.
You're the fucking idiot. I have no idea who this chick is but all she did was file a story that was based on an interview that was on CNBC yesterday morning. I saw the fucking interview and the dude that said this is one of the biggest money mangers in the country. And just so everyone can get their little girl panties unstuck from their asses over the op and this reporter, the guy was NOT saying that if you type google dot com in your browser in five years you'll get a page not found, what he was saying is that there is a POSSIBILITY that they will not be the premier search engine.
I love how people think that nothing can change. 10 years ago Yahoo and fucking Alta Vista were the big search engines and people said the same thing, they'll never disappear. Oh, how about AOL? Myspace? Everyone needs to get a grip, the OP was just rehashing a story that was printed by someone who didn't even make the original statement.
You think Eric Jackson is one of the biggest money managers in the US and I am an idiot?
LOL, this one's too small to keep, I'll just toss him back and let him grow up big and strong
"Ironfire Capital is a long/short technology-focused investment firm. It was founded by Dr. Eric Jackson in 2007, who is a regular contributor to Forbes, Bloomberg, CNBC, WSJ China, Sina Finance, TheStreet.com and other publications. Ironfire seeks undervalued companies with strong governance which have the potential to appreciate substantially in value over the next few years.
We have a special focus on publicly traded companies that have numerous strengths and yet remain deeply undervalued relative to their fair value. Ironfire engages with the company's management, board and fellow shareholders to help ensure proper steps are taken to finally unlock that embedded value. We use proprietary analytics and deep research to identify possible investments. We seek to have an ongoing and positive relationship with our investee companies.
In January 2007, Jackson started the world's first Internet-based campaign to increase shareholder value at Yahoo!, leading to a change in CEOs in 2007. He also spoke out in favor of Yahoo!'s accepting Microsoft's buyout offer in 2008. Global Proxy Watch named Jackson as one of its 10 "Stars" who positively influenced international corporate governance and shareowner value in 2007. Prior to founding Ironfire Capital, Jackson was President & CEO of Jackson Leadership Systems, Inc., a leadership, strategy, and governance consulting firm. He completed his Ph.D. in the Management Department at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business in New York, with a specialization in Strategic Management, and holds a B.A. from McGill University. He was previously Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at VoiceGenie Technologies, a software firm now owned by Alcatel-Lucent. In 2004, Jackson founded the Young Patrons' Circle at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, which is now the second largest social and philanthropic group of its kind in North America, raising $500,000 annually for the museum. Jackson writes regularly for Forbes, The Chinese Wall Street Journal China, Sina Finance, TheStreet.com and RealMoney.com."
Wow, this thread got heated!!
As a side note...
BlueTurtle & assphuck you shouldn't take what the other said as personal. Regardless of stance, you're both right to defend your viewpoint, because if you're not prepared to- it probably isn't worth saying in the first place.
->Having passion is great, it's what makes BHW better than the rest.
=I hope you both can draw a line under it and genuinely applaud the others effort in defending their view, even if you 100% disagree with what has been said.
You basically said everyone apart from yourself to be of low intelligence, said anyone who dislikes what Google is doing wears a tin-foil hat and now you're portraying yourself to be easy going, giving assphuck + rep to calm him down, and saying you want to have a beer with him. What the hell broIf giving you +8 rep is a dig then sure, I had a dig

I took issue with a lot of what you were saying because a lot of people had been harmed by Google and yes, it's true that they were stupid to put their entire trust in a search algorithm, but their decision was naive; it didn't merit destruction of entire businesses, as has happened in so many cases across the world. I've said many times that nobody, except, ironically, someone with a "tin-foil hat", as you put it, could have predicted the severity of the Penguin update (and subsequent regular refreshes) - many people (yes, albeit naively) trusted Google's rankings to be at least reasonably stable. However recently they have been all over the place, with regular gloating from Matt Cutts. I would love it if Google stood by their motto "don't be evil" and actually stood up for and helped small businesses instead of indiscriminately ruining them, but this is not what is happening. Google has little to no regard about anyone's welfare but its own, and has little to no regard for users' private data, the data they collect is simply another tool to make more money down the line. Yes, it is a business and business is business; that's your argument. This is true. But I also have a heart and I feel a lot for people who have lost a lot because of what Google does. I just hope they can learn from their mistakes and not rely on such a fickle mistress as the Google search algorithm in the future.
I also don't think assphuck typically takes things too seriously, it's just that you came in and pissed him off with a lot of shite talking. I think that's what did it really.
But at the end of the day, whoever wins in an argument on an internet forum, we are all still losers for participating. We could have spent the time we spent arguing, either making more money or screwing hot chicks.
You can argue, make money AND screw hot chicks you know..![]()
And here's a more better way,
Instead of arguing, we can discuss, have fun, learn more, make money and you know the rest....
someone who a) supports Matt Cutts and b) supports Google
(if you don't think there are no anti-trust issues here, you are deluded).
You are attempting to kiss ass while still doing your level best to win the argument which is secretly very important to you.
