Time to Change Your SEO Mindset

Well I am not a SEO guru I came across BHW two months ago and my first order was for backlinking and service provider shoot my website with thousands of shit links from porn to no PR. When i read more on BHW about quality of backlinks and tier system i got scared that i jeopardizes my money site.

After that I started making teirs and high quality contents and bla bla and guess what after two months which keyword reached first page; the one with low quality links :) I don't know why but it is on no 5 today and the other far far behind.

So my take is try all and never give up on old ways :)

I still use from 20 to 30% main keyword I want to rank for as anchor and I am ranking with no problems. I use only 10% generic anchors like "click here" and max 20% brand anchors. The rest are the related searches Google gives you mixed with generic + main keyword. Penguin is about anchor diversification and quality of the backlinks. 5 quality backlinks worth a lot more than 500 shitty ones. The best part is that if you build high quality backlinks you will see result a lot faster, as fast as 4 days. + you will have a chance to survive the next update maybe.

I treat my 1st tiers like my money sites these days. I use spun articles on 2nd tier but to make one spun article I use at least 10 articles spinned by hand. My 2nd tiers are higher quality than most of the BHW services that point directly at the money site. This is costly but I don't see any reason why you should be a cheap bastard. You'll get back your investment pretty fast anyways.

So instead of trying to figure out if it's better to use 56% or 57% brand keywords I'd say you should start focusing on the quality of your backlinks.

Theres some truth to it, basecamp ranks for project management software, but it doesnt have this in backlinks at all, just mentions it in the title. Not sure how Goggle knows, apart from that.basewank.PNG

Google is a learning machine, most natural backlinks don't have exact anchors, just raw, the context then adds relevance, now if you add that to a strong bunch of links u win!

Very interesting post and comments, I am a new member and it seems as the more I read the less I understand, everything is changing all the time it seems... Why do Google look down on SEO anyway, should people build bad sites that are not optimised, why?

To some degree that's good. It gives you more motivation to just launch a site and get your feet wet. :)

Trying to but can't connect to their servers at the moment. It does have pretty colours too...

Macs look nice too, doesn't mean they're not inferior to computers. :D

No, it's not. Hasn't been for a while now, especially since they switched to Bing competition results.

God damn I wish I could get a refund for that steaming lump of shite, I wish chargebacks could extend after 2 years. I just never used it because the rank tracker broke and even with the rank tracker it was shit so I just never used it.

it it is correct then this means the end of mini site like a single page camera review or TV review site , And impossible to rank a site with in an year unless you are poring the content daily , How can a relatively new site be an authority site with out so many content so it will take minimum 6 months to be an authority site

seems to be that a lot of user-input based sites are considered authority sites these days and are now jumping to the top of the rankings.I guess the new blackhat strategy of today would be to set up a nice website and let it build itself by letting your registered users do all the posting.Classic example are the top ranking coupon sites.....retailmenot etc which run an automated script and thier users just post new coupons which inturn get rated and commented on by other users.Tons of user input which turns it into an authority site. The site admin prolly spends 5 mins a day updating it lol

I've got an authority site or two I'd say that were just crushed in the second Google Panda. Maybe I should use the google tools to remove a ton of these spammy links and see what the results are as I know this niche is the same way as well. I'd just need to continue adding new content like I did in the past.

I'll update you guys when I see the results or lack thereof.

google/yahoo gamed/pwned that app ages ago.....amzingly it still pulls in sales from people still trying to find that elusive keyword

Agreed. Don't discount the power of social signals now either.

Eventually, the online web will resemble an offline popularity contest. Those who know the most people, those who are being talked about the most, and those who are active in the high school hierarchy that is the internet.

Build authority sites with good content. Stop building garbage.
That's the spirit. I still hope SERP won't stay like this. A lot of garbage along with authority websites.

Just to add my 2 cents about anchor text rotation...
Going with a particular ratio is always a good thing to do and most of you will say that the lower it is for the
main keyword/s,the better, but instead i do suggest to up and down your own specific ratio for few weeks back
and forth for best results!
To make it look as natural as possible,IMO and based on my tests, that's the best thing to do in the long run!

Well the game for sure is getting tough day by day and it continues to get even more complicated, cant imagine where would we stand after a year!! Your idea works for sure, it all revolves around the authority sites now!
