Went to the windows store the other day and aside from them trying to pay me to switch to Bing for search, convert me from an iPhone user to a windows phone user, they were also trying to push Windows 8 upgrades pretty hard.

I'm personally going to be sticking with windows 7 until whatever the next stable version of windows after 8 comes out. Seems like Microsoft just can't get their shit together - looks like the worst thing to happen since Vista IMO.

Interested in hearing other Blackhatter's thoughts/plans for this though..

I went with the Betas on Win 8 and had ABYSMAL problems. I cant imagine they are all fixed as I keep seeing people post the same issues on messageboards still. I would stick with 7 until it goes through a couple changes.

Windows 8's Metro Interface is odd. Nothing should take up a fullscreen when I'm multi tasking, especially when I am a triple monitor user...

Friend of mine installed beta and he said is very good. I might go for it but kinda sux re-installing all again, Windows 7 so far is good enough for me.

Agreed, trying to turn a desktop into a tablet was just a bad idea...

I think I'll just get a windows 8 tablet after seeing some reviews..

I have a windows 7 tablet and there's really no use in upgrading for me as the windows 7 tablets come with two interfaces, one for apps and one for desktop.

Might be worth a look if you dont own one already though.

actually i will stick with windows 7 till windows 8 became popular because i don't have time for any shits

Definitely sticking with Windows 7. Microsoft has a pattern of releasing terrible operating systems after great ones. Windows ME? Bad. Windows XP? Great. Windows Vista? Bad. Windows 7? Great. Windows 8... you get the idea. :)

My sentiments exactly.

I have vista and planning to upgrade to seven, I will upgrade to 8 once the mayority of software gets updated.

Maybe I was doing it wrong but when I tried the Windows 8 consumer preview I had to go through about six click to shut down my computer. As opposed to the two click I need to do now. It took about thirty seconds just to get to the shutdown button.

I do not see why I need to slide panels around like a twat when I have a mouse. Windows 8 is built for touch screen, not for mouse and keyboard. Who in their right mind want's a touch screen PC? My tablet is filthy after five minutes of use. I would hate locking my computer every fifteen minutes to wipe down the screen.

You were definitely doing it wrong. The idea of metro is to have an app store similar to mobile devices but accessible on pcs. Sounds good in theory, but in practice (at least so far) it's a huge clusterfuck.

Windows 8 is going to be buggy and Microsoft is really on the fence right now. Being that EVERY piece of software out right now has like a 99.99999% chance of being compatible with Windows 7, I am sticking with Win 7 for at least another year and a half.

Im sticking with windows 7. I'm not feeling the whole making my desktop look like a tablet.

I still remember Vista. There's no way I'm switching to windows 8 without it getting amazing reviews and being able to test drive it myself.

Might even switch to Linux instead, to be honest. I've only stuck with windows to this point because it's such a popular system.

I've come around to windows 7, but I won't be moving to win8 any time soon, I think it's a great concept, but definitely won't be stable until win9 in my opinion.

I run a serious internet marketing operation, I need an operating system not an iphone tablet wannabe playtoy.
