What other alternatives are there for bhsvps? Are these pre-loaded VPSs a better option at the start to save money. I know they might not be reliable, but when you don't have enough money to buy everything from the apps to VPS.

Why is everyone so VPS happy? I run a handful of servers off a business connection no problem. Don't have to worry about lists/keys/custom bots getting stolen, and it's dead simple to control.

I would set up a dedicated machine and self host it if you have the bandwidth and then just remote desktop into it like you would if it was a VPS.

I have done away with my VPS and built up a dedicated server and its amazing. I reckon my productivity has gone up 10 fold as everything was bogging down with my VPS. I am also save $60 a month (minus the extra electricity I use). A VPS is great in theory but they are all overclocked and they have terrible performance so unless you are running tools that don't require much performance, they are completely useless. A standard VPS with Windows will probably have 2Gb RAM, 2Gb CPU, 70Gb HDD and other then the disk space, you won't actually get that performance. You wouldn't buy a PC for general home use from the shop with that low spec so why would you set up a proper machine to run SEO tools on it with that spec?

There's a website called wsodownloads dot info and it has a sister site called something like 'the internet black book'. Basically, servers for hire with all the major IM programs installed. As a bonus, you get some juicy .pdfs about internet marketing.
