I'm actually very surprised how people just scream "Twitter" "Facebook" when the word advertising or promoting is said. Both websites supply JUNK traffic unless you do it properly but why spend so much of your time on websites that keep majority of their traffic on-site? Take advantage of Pinterest/Tumblr who send 80% of there traffic to websites like yours I only dedicate less than an hour a day to Twitter/Facebook nothing more than that. This is just my opinion & my experience speaking, good luck.
