Thanks, I actually did not know what you guys meant by fake PR, so obviously I had to look this up and learned a lot. I do apollogize for posting that site up there I just scraped it a little before I posted that and just now learned what a Faked PR is.

Last year, Google officially announced that parked domain names will be deindexed. I assume you are talking about Godaddy Expired Domains since this is where most people get their high PRs. Let me put it for you this way, once a domain name expires it's Nameservers automatically shift to Godaddy's and a parking page appears.

Now when Google crawls the website and finds a parking page, it gets deindexed. PR becomes N/A sometimes too.
However, after you acquire the expired domain name and upload some content (along with robots.txt) -- Your website gets re-indexed on Google and you gain back the PR and everything else the domain had.

True - however, canonical changes can have a massive effect.
Remember PR is ONLY a factor of inbound links.
Over a period of time, as google fins all of your inbound links going to 404 or being redirected your PR will take a hit.

Like I said - buy a domain INTACT before it gets parked, use the existing internal content if you can (or just leave it, put a new front end on, and have all the exising content under an "archive" navigation while you add your own. Careful to keep the URL's in tact. It's not particularly hard to do.

It wasn't a high PR site, but one was 10 years old ans the other was 8 years old. I really try to not buy a domain that's been dropped or at least I make sure that the drop wasn't recent.

If you follow google updates and build quality stuff to website you'r website will never get deindexed.....

Scritty, having sold more than 50 high pr domains, I am afraid you are mistaken.
I just went through a good number of domains, some of their owners:
- Redirected 404 to homepage
- Did not redirect 404 to any place
- Uploaded a simple html page ONLY

All of these domain names retained their PR even after the aggressive Google updates that we witnessed over the last couple months.

It all depends on when Google crawled that domain name and how often was the parking page seen.

And how long does it take to get the web-site re-indexed again? And will PR be the same, regardless of all links going to 404 recently?

It never took more than 10 days from the day I upload a page + robots.txt, then ping on any pinging website.

even if the old site does lose its pr etc its easy enough to get back..... ping all the backlinks it had, they're still around!

Of course the links don't get devalued... if a company erroneously forget to renew their domain expire does that mean that they have to start from the beginning? I don't think so.
