Are these paid ranking packages worth it?

I need a keyword to rank at least first page. It is currently on page 3, but I don't have time to actually build the backlinks myself. I was going to try one of the packages found on this site but I need some opinions first.

How much would this cost me? Do they actually work? I don't want to pay $100 just to end up on page 2.

Also recommend me some services.

I don't really like AdWords. I would prefer to spend a one time fee and get organic hits from Google instead.

For a tough keyword, expect to pay $0.75 a click and up to $100 a click. Balance your daily budget only, but make sure you are in the top 3 ad rotations for clicks. The top 3 are more likely to soak up all the traffic rather than position 4 or lower.

you could just post up a job on odesk asking for page 1 rankings and then see if anyone can do it for your price.

if you have an easy keyword it could be less than $100 to hire someone to get it to page 1.

Yes this is what I am afraid of, that I pay only to have my ranking taken away eventually. Anyway I am already getting help so we will see how it works.
