i recently moved back to jamaica and i was wondering are there any BHW members that live here or are from jamaica?

How is it to live in jamaica?
I am really interested in that one!

I mean stuff like: Costs of living, good citys to live in and so on...

Jamaicans are too friendly and social to work isolated online. :)

What is Situation of Law and Order in Jamaica ?

Depends on the area.

I visited a few times. The "Bush" in Jamaica is like an overgrown Garden of Eden. Its amazing. I met Rastas down there that can drop off the map and live well in the bush for weeks at a time. All the fresh fruit and water you need to live well and if you smoke or shroom, which I did at the time, Whoooah!! lol

There are middle class suburbs in Jamaica with a standard of living better than that of middle class suburbs in the U.S. Nice homes and plenty of two, three and four car garage families all over the place and No Crime. None. Quieter, less crowded than burbs in the States and amazing fresh cheap food.

The ghetto areas, like the notorious Kingston for example (the most dangerous area in the world until the Iraq war started) are where you want to steer clear of unless you like edgy. :p The ghettoes are the most publicized and smallest part of Jamaica. Its a problem but who says you have to the bad neighborhoods?

There are tourist resorts that are like paradise. You haven't partied until you party at Club Hedonism. It's the Resort to beat all resorts as far as I'm concerned. Wow!!

Jamaica is many different separate worlds in one island. Great place to visit or to live.

The thing I like about living here the most tho is the freedom.

You don't want to know and it changes constantly.

That statement wasn't opinion. It was from the news. Where you from?

Re: "
This island nation once held the top spot for most homicides, a rate that is gradually slipping with increase enforcement and prevention activities."

Jamaica, here I come!

jamaica is great, hot though. to answer some of the questions:
blackstar - depends on what u are looking for, u can go to kingston or montego bay if u want a city type environment, and if u like beaches and tourist type attractions you can go to Ocho Rios, Montego Bay or negril. There mountains, plains, depends on your presences. Electronics and Appliances are expensive, but other thing are generally cheaper.

Yea there is crime in kingston and every where in jamaica and everywhere in the world so as long as you be careful and not stupid you will be ok

Maaan. I really want to live in jamaica someday.
Sounds and looks awesome... A few more questions if you dont mind.

What about Internet and so on?
What about the costs of houses?
If I dont want to live in citys... What are some other good locations?
What are the laws regarding foreigners in jamaica? (How long can you stay, citizenship etc.)
What about law enforcment?

I'm from Montego Bay o.o

Murder rate is muders/population ( Not sure, just assuming)

Having a high murder rate doesn't mean it's the most dangerous place in thee world. I just means there are a lot of murders compared to its size.

But yea, you are right we constantly had a high murder rate for a long time.

Everybody has some form of internet.
Houses aren't really expensive, it depends on size and location.
There are many good locations, if you need more info you can just pm me.
