I only have a limited amount of money to work with as my first affiliate link sites haven't made any money. I really feel like I need to have Ultimate Niche Finder, or Longtail Pro (which is better?) so I will be getting one of those soon, but what is the best service to get proxies from and what is a good price? Do I need to have multiple tools to be successful? I feel like there is SO much competition in this field of Niche Marketing now that it's much harder to be successful.

I have been doing this for a couple of months and I'm unemployed right now so I've been spending at least 5 hours a day on this. So I know a fair amount about how to do this. I just need to break my Zero sales slump and start seeing some money soon...I can't pm yet but any advice you could give me would be helpful. Thank you.

Well...

No matter what others says the best way to get in to it is to take your time to read/test/learn... the things are in this particular order....

I will personally suggest to stay away of so called SEO guru and never take something for granted no matter how says that... every time you get some good and useful information test it and then go ahead

i suggest you get some intensive training or tutorial otherwise it will take a lot of trials and errors to get it right

No.. stay away from tutorial and from people that ask you money to teach something that will make your profit sky rocket...

To sustain this I have only one question... If you will have a method that can bring you 1000$/day would you go and work hours to make video tutorial .. build a campaign to sell a tutorial for that method for 100$? why? You need to sell 10 copy/day of that ebook/video/tutorial..etc to make 1000$/day so why would you go for all this when you can sit back and see how your blog/website earn you money?
Some will say that the method work for them and now once they have enough money they want to share...really...
What you will do if you have a method that make you 300$/day would you sell it for 5$ or would you try to make 1000 or 2000 or 10k?

And yes mistake, errors, google sandbox, serp drops, all of this will make you really knowing what are you doing and once you got your method you are up and running....

One of the first things that I have done is to get a test domain... and test all your strategy and all you read..

Second and most important always keep a journal/logs of what are you doing what backlinks did you make, what modification did you do to the website and then see how the website react how your serp react... Never do thing without looking for the feedback.

And never forget this:

G is not human is just an algo that can be made to work for your interests.
Never forget how things works, never forget about tcp, never forget how a server work. Many times we forget that we are talking about machines that are as smart as the people that work with them... A little knowledge about networks/ servers will help.

OK.. the first and most important step is done... I'm talking about the on-page seo... this is a very important factor... but be sure that is ok.. use css/html validation then meta validation... check your kw density... etc.

Now in my opinion you must make a choice... What path you will follow? The White hat or the Black Hat?

If the answer is white hat I can not give you many instruction/information... This doesn't mean that this is a wrong one or it doesn't work but my experience with this is poor so I can't give you tested information.

If you choose the Black hat in terms of seo tools I will suggest you: ScrapeBox / SliQ Submitter and some bookmarking tool (I can not suggest one since for this I use outsourcing).
Second get some decent windows VPS and proxy.... For this I use altinsoft[dot]net and my own proxy server but for proxy you can ask loopline :http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/members/30935-loopline.html. Give him a message and tell him ija61 send you he have some good proxy and also can give you many advices about SB

After you get the tools start to read/test/see feedback/learn.

As a point to start anchor variation is the new "black" in SEO.

From what I understand since you pass the on-page seo you already have a kw and a webstie.
After you get the tools start to try to rank for that kw and also choose some secondary kw. Use adwords for that..

What I can tell you this is not a short path and if you want to succeed you must be patient and work hard... I saw my website many times dropped and long month without a singe 0.01$.

So do not expect to have success on the first month... Or.. you can have.. if you can rank for a paying kw and get visitors in the first month you will see the money but this is not so easy for a beginner.

One more thing and I stop... Google like big old sites...

Ive been using the free version of GSA search engine ranker and it seems to be doing a good job. Have you tried it? And an update...I used longtail pro to find my keyword/niche and i'm on the first page of G in two days...amazing.

One of the most sensible explanations I have read in this forum; a mirror image of what's been going through my mind since I started to learn IM. Having said this, there are few gurus here who would share great tips and tricks that you only need to try and test. Even one of the top SEO companies commented on their blog post that they encourage their employees to have personal websites to test/experiment things they are unable to do within the organisation. So the gist is, as ija61 mentioned, read - test - learn and use your own judgement and common sense to ascertain the best method. Also my personal learning is to sustain the patience and motivation, not to jump into something and drain the energy then quit! I have read on another blog - 90% newbies quit after 6 months of frustrated efforts, I couldn't verify the source of information but it did make sense though.

You could very well have great ideas. Now you need to put them into practice

It is hard to talk about tools though, because your post is very vague on what sort of strategy you are going for. What is it, SEO? What sort of competition? What sort of sites?

I don't have many posts, but I am trying be become more active on the forum and actually help out now, so here is my advice. Tools can be a waste of money in the beginning (sorry if that offends anyone here). When I first started I would read threads and guides and see the tools people were using and thought "I NEED those" and spent hundreds of dollars getting all the latest, greatest tools before I made a single dollar with IM. The fact is you don't need any tools to be successful.

You say that you only have a limited amount of money so why spend $50 or $100 on keyword research tools (especially with a decent amount of free tools out there) if you don't even know you can make that money back? You can also find someone to fo kw research on here and fiverr for far less.

Here is what I recommend to start, obviously all may not agree. Just buy services (kw research, backlinks etc) at first, it will be far cheaper than buying all the tools you would need to accomplish the same thing yourself. Once you are making some money and want to try scaling it up then consider getting the proper tools to do it yourself if you feel like putting the time in to learn how to use them properly and running them. You should be able to figure out what works and what doesn't from the services you bought and then pick what tools you need to reproduce the same results for yourself.

Here's a good example of what I'm talking about. When I first started I got the impression that I needed scrapebox to be successful with what I wanted to do, so I went and bought it. I used it a few times and haven't touched it since then. The tool is great, it just doesn't fit into my strategy now. If I feel like I need a sb blast to anything now I'd still rather just drop $5 and let someone else do it.

When you first start you will go through so many different ideas and methods, I wouldn't purchase anything until you lock down and make money from one of them and even then make sure you absolutely need it. My biggest money maker is the product of the adwords keyword research, a cell phone video camera and 2 fiverr gigs.

Thanks for the advice guys. I am now using longtail pro and it really saves me a lot of time researching KW. The only problem is coming up with ideas on what products and KW to put into it. I used it to get a website on the first page of G in two days...Maybe I just got REAL lucky, but I think I finally know the steps to take with each site that I build with WP, and how to to the on page SEO and i have been using the GSA search engine ranker as well and it has been driving my less keyword optimized sites up the rankings...I'm going to wait a few days with my new sites to start submitting them to all the directories . I don't think it's a good idea to jack up your site too much in the first week as much as I want to.
