A mac is going to eat up your budget fast with lower end specs,just get a good windows machine and get rid of the bloatware on it.

Running Windows on a Mac is retarded. There is nothing special about the Mac hardware that would make it any better than any other laptop.

Get a MacBook Pro. You can get a copy of parallels or other software that allows you to run all of your windows programs at the same time right from the desktop, as well as have the safety and comfort/ease/speed of a new mbp.

You need A lot of Ram + A good Processor. This thing has both + more.

There are other good laptops out there, but would most likely cost more. If you want to search for more laptops look for "Mobile Workstations". There specs are a lot better then the average laptops(aswell as there prices), but they are meant for heavy duty tasks, and will get the job done.

Lenovo Ideapad Y580 is MUCH cheaper with the same specs. It's on Newegg starting at $899, it was $799 with a mail-in rebate card just recently. You can add 8GB RAM for $40.

Haven't tried this myself, but I'm in the process of building a desktop for that purpose.

This one is good, I bought one of these as well and stuck a 128GB SSD in it for increased performance. A SSD that size will cost you around $150-$200. SSD's are perfect for running IM software without lagging, and multiple chrome tabs won't be a problem.

Haven't tried this myself, but I'm in the process of building a desktop for that purpose.

I've been wanting to do this myself, I have windows 7 ultimate on my machines if that matters.

100% agree with you.

Alienware was a leader back in the day before Dell bought them out. Now, it's a dell computer with a Alien logo and the same price without the high performance parts.

I won't even go into Apple, think hard as the only thing you are really buying is the OS and is that really worth twice as much...

They're so good other computer companies use ASUS parts on their own computers. Like if you look at HP right now, they're using ASUS motherboards.

Alright i have finalized on Apple and Asus brand. I dont want to consider Alienware as its so fuckin hefty and ugly

So my choices are drilled down to(In no particular order)

1) Macbook Pro 13"

• 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5
• 4GB RAM
  
• 500GB hard drive
• Intel HD Graphics 4000
  

2) Macbook Air

• 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor
• 4GB RAM
• 128GB flash storage
• Intel HD Graphics 4000
  

3) Asus
-Not sure which one to consider but I have read reviews where macbook beats Asus Zenbook on youtube..

Some changes in my prorities
1) Portability along with Good Looks
2) Good enough performance to carry a load of 200 tabs(Which I think macbook air or pro will easily carry because my underpowered HP did.
3)I wont be running SEO tools much on my laptop as i already have VPS windows for that. Yeah occasionally I can move to VMWare to install windows

So which one do you think would be better among the listed
