Hi,

I hoped I will be never in need to write this thread, but here I am...

I will save your time and tell my LONG story short!

- I am doing some freelancing jobs ( web design, logos, etc. )

- The last ''client'' I had was willing to pay $49 for Logo+websites design...

- Once I was done, I send preview to client, he was happy and he send money to my PayPal...

- I was happy... For 3 Days...

- After 3 days, I got message from PayPal, that this last mother f*cker wants refund... We discuss it and I said that its not possible, I send you the end product, you were happy so there was no problem, BUT client said that actually, he no need no website now...

Well, then after the paypal claim was up, I refunded his (my) money back, cuz I dont need limited account...

So, QUESTION IS = What different payment alternative I should use so buyers couldn't refund money so stupidly?
A guess these days, there is no SELLERS rights, only BUYERS rights...

PLEASE, PLEASE BHW members, help me out with suggestions!
:smirk:

Charging $49 for a logo and website design is just asking for this sort of bullshit. The problem with charging such low prices is you only attract penny-pinching idiots who don't understand the value they're getting. Raise your prices and you'll get less chargebacks and possibly more customers ($400 is nothing for website and logo design, and charging that or above makes you look like a legit professional).

why you refunded him lol ??
you can won the dispute and keep your money if you have proof that you delivered the job

Your stupid for refunding him, like the above said if you could show that you did the website and logo then you would have won the dispute.

You not going to find a reputable payment processor that's not going to have certain ways of making a dispute harder for the buyers.

Every processor has to have some kind of refund in place.

Yes paypal are fuckers, but... you should have fought the dispute, specially as you did the work.

Fuck...
I was afreid that my account would be limited and I will not be able to receive moneey.. if that happens...

Is it toolate to ask for refund for refund?? :D:D:D

GODDEAM .. :(

You must read paypal buyers protection policy. although he raised a claim and even if you don't send any information to paypal and just say this is intangible purchase. Paypal has nothing to do with that. you shouldn't have refund the money.

Oh !! you may have won the dispute easily under digital products conditions !! first you should know all paypal terms and conditions before dealing with them mate.

Unlucky dude.. well atleast now you know that you don't have to refund if you fulfill your side of the bargain.. good to remember for future sales.

Yes, true, this will never happen again, Just read all the PP Terms , etc...

I was just afraid that my account with $3000+ dont get limited.. I'm not feeling to wait 180days or something...
But I have business verified account.. do they even can limit my account?

Number one mistake that you make when you dont know the person and design logo/web for him... ask him to send you the money as a gift, with that he wont be able to refund his money, and fees will be "jumped"

What did you mean saying - ''andfees will be jumped'' ?

Learned something new today, I was under the impressions that the sellers always get screwed if you have a shady customer. Thanks guys!

Get the square, it's bank-to-bank credit card transferring that has paypal running scared right now. They send you the reader free, you can pay either $275 a month and no per-transaction fee, or 2.75% per transaction. Money is in your bank next day, no bullshit. I have met a lot of people in real life that use these for all kinds of business and from what I can tell, it's the bomb.

You just got...screwover.
It's common to freelancers. I hate this type of clients - hey I don't need this, even I order it, now I don't need it, give my money back, after it's done. And there's also version, that he will get this "free". How you could know that he won't use it? You can't. That's why after I finish(there ware some clients like this motherf*cker) who had some lame excuses like this one. I just tell them that, it's not my care if they don't use it, after it's done.
What about the time you spent working? That's why freelancing sucks because of those shitty "clients".

Paypal is shite. People can be assholes too, but one time I had funds on hold for a "refund" but it turns out the problem was way easier to be solved by having a chat with the customer directly.

What did you mean saying - ''andfees will be jumped'' ?

He and you are not paying any fees to paypal IF he is paying you through paypal not on sites like fiverr, 99designs, freelancer... there the site gets its own fee, and then paypal gets fee and you lose good amount of money, espetually if its a low number $$

Question for more experienced sellers: As a seller, if i lose a dispute, don't have any money on paypal account but my credit card is connected to it, will paypal charge my credit card?

ill buy a website and logo design. show me some examples of your work or contact me on skype: adonisent
