I have many people asked the same questions regarding adsense account and here's the answer:

We have many clients that are approved from Adsense just by using our sites as the backbone (since the site are 100% custom designed). So the idea is to wait until we finished the whole site and then you can use that site to apply directly to Adsense (without doing any blackhat stuff to attain new account which are usually short-term lived) but due to the nature of Adsense approval (which are 100% depends on the reviewer) I can't guarantee that yours will be 100% approved by them

No I won't expect you to earn on the very first day as that is not the norm unless your site jumped into the 1st page immediately and then start gaining traffic. It's all depends on the SERP positions
