Penguin 2.0 has begun

It's killed one of my sites I was testing some methods on. But I saw some slight increases today!!! Darn you Cutts

UK also, slight psoitive movement on sites since Tuesday...

It is just start..As It is Normal that Update Starts in 2nd or 3rd Week of Month and Ends in 1st Week of new Month..So I am sure it will take 2-3 weeks for Full Update and see what People say...

i saw a few competitor sites in my niches disappear completely yesterday and i was thinking there must be an update going on. So far my sites have seen positive movement and hoping it stays that way!

I have seen an increase in SERPS for practically all my keywords across the board overnight. I hope if there is a penguin refresh it will result in a long term positive increase for me as I've changed my off-page technique drastically since April.

I really dont have to worry if this penguin 2.0 will began because I am using white hat seo.. I am always using unique content and then relevant backlinks.

Do you create anchor text for your "whtiehat" backlinks?

Plenty of whitehat websites have been penalised since Panda/Penguin started

lol how can everybody be having positive movement? somebody has to be going down.

Maybe it is the calm before the storm.

I'm not seeing anything from my side (yet). Same ranks with normal daily flux and thin serps from Google in some of the niches I monitor.

Well obviously the positive movement means someone else (BHW lor not) has been taken out.

Well my theory is that we've been diversifying our links.

But the whitehat guys? Well, they're still getting high ratio backlinks.

I'm probably wrong but it would be a very funny turn of events if this started happening. Whitehats being penalised for not understanding Penguin and spammers bouncing up the rankings for having a diverse set of backlinks.

I noticed huge jump in Yahoo/Bing(proven to mirror Google) and big movement in Google.

So i pmed a few people who also manage a lot of sites and they are experiencing the same. I did a Google search for the past 24 hours with Penguin related keywords and there are lots of threads/posts of people experiencing movement.

Remember, Google doesn't update all of their datacentres at once. They release updates to a select few, then to another part of the world etc etc

So if you're not seeing movement yet, you may do soon. I'm in the UK and others in the UK are showing big movement.

I don't quite understand the (Yahoo/Bing) comment and how it relates since I have noticed a huuuge jump in traffic from these two SE.

Not too long ago, Google accused Bing of replicating Google and then produced some very credible evidence. Yahoo and Bing are now merged and use very similar systems i believe. So it could be reasoned that when Yahoo/Bing made a huge jump today that they are followed a pattern started by Google and copying it to their own results.

Pretty much static on my sites. No major ranking changes. Just the normal daily/weekly fluctuations so far. I'll report back if I see any major changes.

Yahoo is pulling results from bing, your belief is good ;).

Ah yes that makes sense. Every time I've done good in goog I have done good in yahoo/bing. Yahoo/bing has never lead the way for me. What's strange is goog has been crushing me for months and yahoo/bing has been good to me.

Just a matter of time before yahoo/bing turns the table in a downward freefall similar to google I would imagine.
