You don't emulate the app. You basically pick apart the application, see if it does anything different than the website, and then emulate the requests. It wouldn't surprise me if they used the same type of bot detection as the main site does though, but it's always worth checking.

As for mobile app - perhaps, but probably got the same thing, captcha doesn't use anything fancy, not sure why their not using recaptcha, this was too easy to crack!

They also check all the plugins you use for your browser, as well as screen resolution and a weird dumb captcha. along with changing the parameters of the requests. It's all pretty gross

Believe it. Let's say at least that POF is a helluva lot more aggressive than either Twitter or FB about halting spam the moment it is complained about as well as blackholing any proxies it can detect.

A lot of private proxies are easily identified as being proxies because they self-identify themselves as being proxy servers! Use a private proxy server and then go to whatismyip.com and see if it tells you what proxy software is running. In my experience, a lot of "private proxies" are not "elite" proxies that don't ID themselves. Then, you also have the issue of whether that IP has ever been used by someone else as a proxy and is now blacklisted. Just because it's "private" doesn't mean it hasn't been sold to another person before.

If you want to try hard enough I'm sure it can be beat like anything else. Myself knowing that the owner knows the normal tricks I would throw the kitchen sink at it. Change MAC address, system name, hardware id, screen size, browser user agent, folder names, and anything else you can think of that he could possibly track you with.

POF(or anyone else) doesn't see your MAC address. It sees the MAC address of the closest hardware/router point the connection passed through.

I read something somewhere about how POF checks you when you are creating an account. It said that somehow it verifies such things as your IP, computer name, browser, OS and the directory from where you upload your pictures. It uses an algorithm to calculate similarities. Lately I was also thinking that somehow they do MAC address check as well. It appears to be very detailed. But if a bot could be created that could manipulate all these factors I think it would be a profitable venture indeed.

You cannot read someone's MAC address unless you are on their network.

So yes they seem to use a lot of checking, they even have a time stamp for when the form was loaded, which is JS.

Randomizing most of the info anyway so it's fine, they change the field names around for the normal filling in, the 'agree to TOS' name always changes..

Done the first step tho, so it's all auto until second step, just ran out of juice last night, going to continue today

Anyone that has been working with POF, how do you know if you got an IP ban?

I keep getting "!!!!Sorry, an error occured while processing your request. We have taken a note of this error and will do our best to resolve it!!!" anyone know the reason for this?

As for proxies yep need to find some good proxies providers.

The only way I have had worthwhile success with proxies in dealing with Craigslist, Twitter, Adword voucher scheme, and even a POF is to create my own. I know there are legit proxy resellers out there, but it only takes getting that IP flagged once and it gets blacklisted rather quickly. Then those get re-sold over and over and flagged by more and more websites. Since we're dealing with IP4 and not IP6, there are a LOT of burned-up and used-up IP's out there either blacklisted by various anti-spam services like Spamhaus etc. or labeled as proxies.

I install free(!)squid elite proxies on a server with about 10-15 add-on IP addresses and use them. If you spread out your marketing to more than one website, getting blacklisted by one doesn't mean that they are now useless as you can use them on others. It's some work but if you are using those proxies/IP's at 3 different places at the same time, it's worth the effort. A lot of people struggle with this idea especially as to how it relates to Adwords voucher accts getting approved and keeping from being hosed on CL.

EDIT: That "sorry" msg you're getting is definitely an IP block from POF in my experience.

Can you use your home IP and then use Hotspot shield so 2 computers and 2+ IP's = 4+ POF accounts per day? average $30 per account with 4 is $120 per day right?

Making a bot is kinda TRIVIAL, to be honest... Nailed my first template bot with IMACROS for ff some time ago, just for the fuck of it since everybody said it was so difficult.. But have the bad habit of believing only after I've personally gotten my hands dirty with something.. Working flawlessly to do EVERYTHING, creation, bulk messaging and all. Of course, no automatic captcha, but the imacros+js is more than enough to automate all the rest (yes account creation included with the funny dynamic DOM..). Now.. this is just the tip of the iceberg, since you'll need to be able to create multiple accounts from multiple locations to make some bank and avoid leaving tracks and all the usual mumbo jumbo... If someone makes a commercial creator, the word will eventually get to undesirable ears and the method patched, since Markus is certainly not a newbie... Their antispam is decent, nothing exceptional for someone familiar with a sniffer and js (credit where due, one of the best in the buisness though...) but won't say a word on the "technical" details for obvious reason, but it's all more than feasible, take this as a motivational hint.. The other main point is how valuable this traffic REALLY is compared to other ways in the same niche. As far as I can tell if you're in for some "hackish method" this lead gen source might be decent, but if you're in for BIG money (a serious marketer, not a skid...) there are WAY better, durable, autopilot and legit ways, no question about it. So you might want to think about that, as well but then I go off topic...
