Amazon Success - $300 Day Yesterday

I had a really good question by PM - and just wanted to add it here.

Whenever you use a hacked / modded or even buy a script from the developer and you set it all up -- make sure you test the links yourself so you see your affiliate code going into Amazon. Then even get a friend to do the same thing and make sure your code is rewarded for your work - otherwise you can end up like me where your affiliate code maybe hijacked .. and even in my case everything seemed clean but he had put it so as to disguise it from me ..... so just take every precaution possible.

good hunting today

Danny -

Thanks for taking the time to write all of this out. I am not a super-active poster on BHW but I have been doing IM for about 3 years. Currently I am trying to build up three separate income streams to $100-200/day. If I can hit $500/day I can exit my partnership and work a lot less.

I have had success with many different things in IM but never long-term success. ALL successes have failed usually with a week or two - except for one notable exception, which I'm going to detail.

My life is pretty good - I'm a fairly highly paid consultant (low 6 figures) but I am burned out on my work. I work a LOT - and I have young kids. My biggest success online has been some authority posts I made on a specialized IT product line and how to configure/customize it. These posts (5 parts total) still have the #2 spot for a 14,000,000+ results search (and I think something like 10K searches/month) broad and #2, #4, and #5 for 14,900 exact results. I got a LOT of work given to me by this so it's a huge success - especially since the thing outranking me at #1 in both cases is the PDF file manual from the manufacturer.

I have made no updates to that post series in 2.5 years - NOTHING. And the site itself is somewhat stale - it's not directly monetized so I don't update it too often - I have enough work as it is.

The reason I am telling you (and everyone else) the stuff above is that - regardless of how many updates Google does - QUALITY content is king. You really made me re-think about that. I have been doing more CPA stuff but after reading the 10+ pages of this thread I already decided to start 3 new Amazon SEO-type projects. I might make a separate thread for them, but they will be -

-1 Niche site for something I know a lot about
-1 "Broad" site- reviews of stuff I actually own
-One other one I want to keep under wraps.

So - in short - thanks for posting all of this and making me re-think my approach to a few things. For a long time I had ruled out SEO since all of my early projects with direct montetization using SEO had failed.

Hi Fernando,

I am just new to the thread, and I feel your pain: I look at Amazon affiliation like a MF relationship that can go wrong suddenly and it is very difficult to rebuild if you do not know what went wrong.

It has been a few weeks since you wrote about trying to get your site back up in the SERPs ... can you share what worked and what didn't from you own point of view please?

TIA,
We

Well its a strange one, i re-wrote all articles re-submitted request and it was knocked back again. So now im really stumped as to what to do. Had Danny have a look at site see if he could see any problems, nothing jumped out to him.

So i decided to just abandon and move on not touched it for a couple of weeks, started building a new site last couple of weeks been working on that then 2 days ago had 2 amazon sales that came from that site. Went to check in serps and there it was sat on page 4 in google, before the de-index it had PR 3 after de-index the PR bar was just grey now it is showing PR2 so i'm baffled why they knocked back reconsideration then it now appears again.

It's dropped back to page 8 last couple of days, will throw some links at it again slowly and see what happens. But the only thing i did was re- write all posts and added a fixed home page with plenty of text on it. If it's back for good then it's a bonus for me if not then I have the other I just finished plus the others that I already had that were not hit.

Maybe the visitors came via Bing/Yahoo/etc?

I am sorry to not add anything yesterday and today - but over the last 3-4 days I built 24 WP Sites - and I have alot of client work that needs to get done first before I can do anything else -- plus I have a summer cold - so probably taking rest of today off.

... I will try to make a summary so far type thing - so people just reading the end of the thread get something of value --- I really appreciate people sharing their experiences and I hope they can continue to do so .. especially leading up to XMAS.

Will be back tomorrow or the next day depending on how I feel..... good hunting today !

I just read this today .. Rank Modifying Spammers .. and it confirms to me much of what many have considered 'thorough research' is really only an educated guess about a moving target. Much like trying to hit a thrown stone with another thrown stone. http://www.seobook.com/blog

Besides the noted post there are several others with potentially useful info. I do believe what your site is currently experiencing possibly is that 'Google Dance' caused my the patent they hold. THe original deindex I have no idea at all.

We

Hired A Worker from one of the BST Threads - $150 a month - just going to have them work on building one type of links for me. Will report how they do.

Just a word on hosting .... I've used Hostgator, Knownhost, Future Hosting, LVPS and Wiredtree

LVPS and WiredTree -- have excellent support - and would recommend both (more advanced sites / higher traffic)
Hostgator is ok to begin with but that's it

The other 2 wouldn't recommend them .... before making any choice on this -- go to the forum WebHostingTalk and read reviews and offers.

Webhosting is so important when you start taking this seriously -- crap service / downtime - take money directly out of your pocket.

Good Hunting Today

Hi,

I have 32 WP Sites and 13 Magento Sites - I found a better theme and rebuilt except for my first 8 sites.. So at the most expensive that is $450 a year in domains... peanuts when I am trying to make 24k - 36k a year.

Computers maximum you can earn is $25 --- electronics are 4% uncapped ... basically selling computers sucks.

I only ever buy .com's - for me finding EMD is never a problem - seems beginners just don't get it in terms of finding them.

Really despite being semi successful at Amazon when I started this thread - I have drastically upped my game now - and think I should make some serious cash Nov / Dec / Jan -- feel like my sites are much improved.

I have one basic VA now doing one task - I will probably employ a more advanced one as well - as I said above - I am really looking to make this a Long Term steady income (that grows).

I just want to point out one thing - When I started this thread I was changing my sites by making them less autoblog and more content - earnings rose dramatically - so I used the money - to get more advanced themes - Magento Sites and now starting with VA's

so things have changed for this project in terms of how I am doing it - I've raised the bar further ... I can only say to people following the thread -- give it a try make some money and perhaps try the same thing ... good luck !

I also much agree with you about web hosting, three years ago, i lost a website due to using a poor unreliable hosting service. (it was $500 down the drain.). But i learnt my lesson real hard.

No idea on Drupal

Articles / Reviews / Products - I usually start day 1 with 5 articles and add to it.... some sites I start with 5 articles and 4 reviews - this type of thing is up to you - depending on your site and what your targeting.... I think you may have gotten caught up in the discussion with another guy talking about autoblogs.

No - I just know how to find Domains - for me this is easy but for some reason others struggle with this.

Magento - Products - Depends on Niche - some have 5000 products available in various forms some have 500.
Again totally up to you what you add and what you don't...... again I cannot stress enough I still don't know how well the Magento Sites will sell -- WP makes way more money at this time.

Finally I just want to say - this is what I do - it's not the only way - you just gotta use your talents the best way you can / test it and go from there.... cheers.

(by the way I finished testing the BHW Members Amazon AutoPoster - it just didn't sell - maybe for many reasons - but we decided to stop using it for now)

I have planned my strategy for 3 weeks now and fortunately I found your thread today. I'm starting my site this very morning, so wish me luck :)
Thanks for all the sharing Danny, I wish you even more success.

OK - Yesterday I used the Pinterest Bot I bought last week :: first off want to say I know nothing about Pinterest - just a rookie :: and I just created one account.

Selected A Site Selling Items $50 - $2000

Created a Board / Opened Software / Entered Account Information / Entered Description and Site Link -- Scraped and Posted Pins

This morning sold $480 from that site for roughly $33 in commissions.

Needless to say will buy more accounts and run a campaign on each site I own -- this combined with my regular Seo Sales should make a nice total each month.
